Come to Scotland VQ, scenery in abundance, mountains, middles of nowhere all over the North and reasonably priced housing. Driving licence and midge repellent necessary!

Yes Northumberland is great. My Dad was from there. However I have just been watching Robson Green's series on Northumberland and there are places I have never even heard of before! I would love to visit some of those.

I love city breaks, and I love English country hols. Just nice not to have to do the housework. And be somewhere different.

I never want to come home from holidays, one of my daughters, on the other had, refuses to go away for more than a week, says she gets homesick.......I don`t!! I agree regarding Northumberland, before I ever went there I imagined it as a dirty, dark, industrial area, I was SO wrong.

Wait until you retire, vampire. Holidays can go on for ever, if you can afford them.

Is North Norfolk more expensive than Durham? It wasn't when I lived there.
Of course it all depends where you move from.
Vampire, Norfolk is too flat for you. Too many laarge fields, and you can see traffic for miles. Central Northumberland is what you want.

I live in the middle of nowhere. Blissful.
It is becoming more silent than ever as the houses that are sold are becoming second homes. It is becoming too quiet.

After a few days in the middle of nowhere I long to get back to the hustle and bustle. Takes all sorts....

I wish you could vq - but maybe you can take every opportunity this summer to get off in the caravan and recharge your batteries.

My father came from Northumberland and went back to retire. It is a beautiful county, but very cold in the winter!

It only takes a couple of days for me to long to come back home if we stay anywhere that's busy. The novelty of being surrounded by hustle and bustle soon wears off.
