Alie, not sure how it works in your area, but in our area you do not have to be in Council accommodation or HA accommodation to be eligible for a Council bungalow for older people in our area. People we know have been allocated one even though they owned their own homes and before their house was sold.
Could someone make enquiries on your behalf to see if there is a scheme like this in your area. At least you would be in an area with older (and hopefully nicer) people who have something in common, and I would not think that large dogs would be allowed, perhaps small dogs and cats.
Alternatively, would there be enough equity in your house to consider buying a Park home? I know a lot of people would not move to one, but my DB and SIL bought one 16 years ago and loved it; everyone is over 50 and no large dogs allowed. There are restrictions I know and a ground rent to pay, but they are generally cheaper than other types of houses and you would be surrounded by people of our age.
Why do people lie online are they living a fantasy or winding us up?
) and a couple of houses in our street have sold recently for around £60,000, one of them a 4 bed, lovely house. (Owner wanted quick sale due to moving in with her new husband). How is my neighbour supposed to sell hers for £60,000 and buy another property and pay fees? It's impossible. So she, basically, is stuck where she is. I suppose at least I do have the opportunity to move even though it is taking time.
