Well I am an addict and proud of it! Love it all even the boring bits and now love Ambridge Extra.......I believe I am not alone either????

NfkDumpling Sun 23-Nov-14 15:50:04

I caught up with the omnibus edition today. There's no way Justin would have offered that much - unless he has a grudge of some sort against Brian. It's getting just too silly and like East Enders. So much angst. I was wondering too when there would be a murder and now it seems Jenny has found one.

Gracesgran Sun 23-Nov-14 16:16:29

What will it cost to get the planning permission through for the road NfkDumpling, and how much will Justin loose on his planned projects if it doesn't go through. Perhaps David and Ruth should see the offer as proof that Damara Capital is not so sure they will be able to get the road plan through :-)

chloe1984 Sun 23-Nov-14 16:50:23

I think Rob will be sacked for non attendance and he will take over Bridge Farm and will end up in complete control over them all. I worry over little Henry as he has enough to contend with as it is.

Nelliemoser Sun 23-Nov-14 17:40:38

Justin Elliot probably wants to build on the land. Listen in 19;02hrs. Although big events rarely seem to happen on a Sunday episode.

NanKate Sun 07-Dec-14 16:11:20

Do you think David, Ruth and her m in l (can't remember her name and I have only been listening to the show for 60 years hmm ) will leave Ambridge ?

If they don't leave how will the scriptwriters sort it out ?

It's just come to me Jill grin

NanKate Sun 07-Dec-14 16:13:07

Another question can someone get me up to speed with the situation with Helen and her beau Rob and is he a rogue?

Anne58 Sun 07-Dec-14 17:05:10

NanKate I think he's bound to be a cad and a bounder to boot! (Although they are rather dragging it out)

There is of course the issue (pun!) of the paternity of his ex-wife's new baby to be considered.

And who would have thought that an ironing board would play such a key role in so many episodes!

merlotgran Sun 07-Dec-14 18:20:51

I found myself enjoying the silver band at the Christmas lights switch on so much I can't remember what happened. hmm

annodomini Sun 07-Dec-14 19:21:20

There is bound to be a major crisis at or around Christmas, as now seems traditional in soaps. Will it be: Brookfield deal falls through; Ruth's mother dies; Tony dies....? Cheers!

NanKate Sun 07-Dec-14 20:14:03

Yes you are right Anno there's bound to be a death to hot things up over Xmas.

papaoscar Sun 07-Dec-14 20:34:47

Hot news: Grey Gables has received a Christmas booking from a Mr G Reaper. He's bringing some agricultural gear with him and is looking forward to entering into the spirit of things. Also, four horsemen have applied to join the Boxing Day hunt and whip-up some fun and games. And Kate the Dreadful is also planning a festive visit - will she bring the brood with her? Meanwhile, fire burn and cauldron bubble down at Brookfield with the distribution of all the loot from the sale of the farm. Will they all be singing from the same hymn-sheet at the end of it?

grumppa Sun 07-Dec-14 21:22:38

Boxing Day shoot: incompetent business guest blows Justin's head off, share price collapses, all deals off, Brian buys up Borchester Land for a song. But it's too late! Linda has murdered David and Ruth and plans to keep the bodies in the freezer until they can be buried under the new road as an act of poetic justice.

Rob has a few too many on New Year's Eve, gets in the car and crashes into an oncoming vehicle containing his wife and baby - all killed. Helen seeks comfort in the arms of Kirstie (whose return has been trailed), and they are murdered by Tom in a fit of jealous rage, his mind having been unhinged by the identity crisis brought about by the change in his voice.

Meanwhile, the three witches, Carole, Jill and Peggy .........

annodomini Sun 07-Dec-14 21:40:56

I like your style, grumppa. tchgrin

merlotgran Sun 07-Dec-14 22:02:31

Carol's already on a mission to poison everyone in Ambridge.

Iam64 Mon 08-Dec-14 17:28:33

Grumppa and popaoscar must be added to the script writing team at once.

I've been away and even missed the omnibus so it's good to get a summary (of sorts! ) here.

NfkDumpling Mon 08-Dec-14 18:20:47

I'm only two episodes behind now. Have they discovered the cannabis Carole is growing in her attic yet?

annodomini Mon 08-Dec-14 18:22:53

Perhaps it's time to put a merciful end to Ambridge, in which case, Grumppa and Papaoscar are the people to do it. tchgrin

NfkDumpling Mon 08-Dec-14 18:27:55

Noooo, tchsad. It's my only soap!

chloe1984 Mon 08-Dec-14 18:41:18

It's my only soap as well it has lots of mileage yet still haven't got to the bottom of Rob the rascal.

Iam64 Mon 08-Dec-14 18:43:37

'rascal' is too kind a description of Rotten Rob with his controlling, manipulative habits and behaviour grin

chloe1984 Mon 08-Dec-14 18:47:36

I was being polite as I think Rob is a complete low life and I can't wait for Tom to really tell him to get the hell out of the farm business.

papaoscar Mon 08-Dec-14 19:30:30

I have loved t'Archers since I was last in knickerbockers and I shall fight the scriptwriters on the blogs and forums to resist their pitiful attempts to try and administer their soapy enemas without mercy to our favourite collection of politically correct muck-spreaders, country squires, windbags, hypocrites, psychopaths, Morris dancers and Linda Snell. There'll be no Christmas truce from me, fraternising in the no-mans land of false Christmas bonhomie with the massed hacks of the Beeb's rent-a-script department. This will be the mother of all radio battles. Abuse will be hurled without restraint. Don't rest, ye Merry Gentlemen, you better had despair, for your time is coming. The couch potatoes have had enough. You have been warned!

suzied Tue 09-Dec-14 05:47:08

Haha well they're obviously doing their job as we're talking about it!
Not sure about Eddie Grundy Turkey storyline, where's that going?

NanKate Tue 09-Dec-14 07:17:03

I think even Nelson of yesteryear would be a bit shocked at the modern day version of the Archers.

I wonder if the new version of this soap may take part in Ambridge and Oop North. You have to admit that would open up the opportunity for lots more characters.

I still miss the chap, whose name evades me, who fell off the roof a couple of years ago. I could hear ever word he said, perfect diction. smile

shysal Tue 09-Dec-14 07:37:34

That was Nigel! That set a precedent for shock seasonal storylines. I await this year's as predicted on this thread.
