Well I am an addict and proud of it! Love it all even the boring bits and now love Ambridge Extra.......I believe I am not alone either????

suzied Mon 15-Sept-14 07:58:29

Thanks for that. Haven't heard much from Mike recently, have we?

suzied Mon 15-Sept-14 07:58:49

Ooh no I meant Matt

shysal Mon 15-Sept-14 08:17:30

Not being aware of St. Mungo, my only knowledge of the name is from 'Mary, Mungo and Midge', the childrens' cartoon, think he might have been the dog!confused

Iam64 Mon 15-Sept-14 08:18:59

He'll be off getting up to no good somewhere suzied, likely to be dancing on the edge between legal and not so legal business dealings.

All those who query the ease with which young Johnny calmed the bull, moved the cows and yearns to live on the farm - Think On! This is a farming programme, it's all in the genes. His father lives on in Johnny smile

suebailey1 Mon 15-Sept-14 08:30:12

Ah but wont that complicate the inheritance - I can hear Helen bleating now.

merlotgran Mon 15-Sept-14 11:05:46

I hope she doesn't start bleating, sueb or Johnny might seize the chance to show off some miraculously acquired shearing skills!

papaoscar Mon 15-Sept-14 12:48:30

Never mind, I have it on good authority that fracking is going to make the Grundys' millionaires and they will take over Loxley Hall and turn it into a theme park. Elizabeth will establish a lap dancing academy with Linda at the Bull, and Jazzer will come up on the Lottery and become the owner of the Country Club. The Archer clan will slip into the hole in the Ambridge social fabric left by the Grundys.

Gracesgran Sun 21-Sept-14 11:20:52

Well! I am feeling very clever as Carole is going to move back and into Jill's cottage as I suggested [smug].

However, surely Elizabeth would have spoken to a solicitor re Roy? She is walking strait into a sexual harassment suit IMO and there is no cap on the award for those shock

Nelliemoser Sun 21-Sept-14 11:55:29

So that puts the kibosh of my idea that Ruth's mum Heather moving in there.

Gracesgran Sun 21-Sept-14 12:16:19

No one is living in the bungalow on David and Ruth's farm at the moment are they Nelliemoser. Could she move there?

I have a feeling she may move into sheltered housing nearby as many older people move closer to there family when they decide to move anyway. They could weave the pros and cons into the script.

(But who knows smile)

Gracesgran Sun 21-Sept-14 12:18:01

Mike Tuckers house is up for sale but didn't they build Roy and Hailey's on the side? I suppose it made it a semi but I thought Mikes was the smaller half, if you see what I mean.

papaoscar Sun 21-Sept-14 12:31:54

So will Roy the boy take Liz to a tribunal on grounds of unfair dismissal? Will Usha act for him? Will Henry stand as witness for Roy or his mum? And Johnny - what's he up to? And Carole T - will she re-ignite past passions? All done in the best possible taste of course!

merlotgran Sun 21-Sept-14 13:12:10

Do you mean, Freddie, papaoscar?

I predict a riot tribunal.

Gracesgran Sun 21-Sept-14 13:37:30

She won't need a witness papaoscar and merlotgran. She cannot just dismiss someone like that: she would need to explain why she has. Any good HR Director or solicitor would soon tell her it's better to settle and it should (if they do it right) cost her a packet. Silly women. angry

Note to self to be repeated often: They are not real they are only characters ... They are not real they are only characters ... They are not real they are only characters

papaoscar Sun 21-Sept-14 13:50:22

I do, thanks, MerlotG, the heat must have got to me!

papaoscar Sun 21-Sept-14 13:52:35

Not real people, Gracegran . You'll be telling me next that Doctor Who is not a real doctor.

papaoscar Sun 21-Sept-14 14:06:27

And doesn't Hayley do a bit of work at Loxley as well, or have I got it wrong? If so, perhaps she could flounce out and sue for constructive unfair dismissal on account of the boss .... her husband. Roy and her could well take legal advice from Eddy G, remember his attempt to get compensation for Joe's drunken stumble at the country club? Can't remember what happened with that, though. PC Harrison may need to sharpen up his truncheon and stand by for action. Also Lady Liz may need to seek out that bonnie wee man Jazzer for solace, he's a useful man with with his bannocks, after all. Back now to counting sheep..

Gracesgran Sun 21-Sept-14 14:54:40

I don't want to spoil it for you papaoscar, just stay sane smile

Haley has said in the Friday or Thursday's episode that she didn't think you could continue to work there.

Joe did get some compensation (am I sad or what?). Not as much as he hoped for but more than Grey Gables had hoped to settle for.

Jazzer and his bannocks smile probably best not to go there.

sparkygran Sun 21-Sept-14 19:17:33

Where is Robert?????? Everybody knows his grandson is having his Naming Day albeit with a strange name he should be there!! Any answers please it`s driving me mad

suzied Sun 21-Sept-14 20:10:27

He did have a mumble in one of he episodes. I can't get to grips with the step grans / real grans / grandads etc, too much going on.

Gracesgran Sun 21-Sept-14 20:24:12

Robert is turning into one of those named but silent characters like Pru Forrest, wife of Tom Forrest, brother of Doris Archer. For years she never said anything.

papaoscar Sun 21-Sept-14 23:30:13

Robert is undertaking parachute training in preparation for jumping, kitted out like Spider-Man, right into the middle of the naming party. Linda will reciprocate by appearing as Wonderwoman, in a custom-built carriage drawn by the goats. All of this is designed to reduce the impact of the naming ceremony itself on the assembled guests in the hope that they will forget why they are all there.

shysal Mon 22-Sept-14 08:06:02

Bert's Freda never speaks either! Yes, the Robert actor is obviously taking a break.

Gracesgran Mon 22-Sept-14 09:22:34

There is a list on Wikipedia of all the better known silent characters with details of who they are and what part they play in the Archers.

They are:

Baggy
Fat Paul.
Snatch Foster
Bob Pullen
Derek Fletcher
Edgar Titcombe
Eileen Titcombe (formerly Pugsley)
Freda Fry
Jessica
(John) Higgs
Mandy Beesborough
Neville Booth
Nathan
Pru Forrest
Sabrina and Richard Thwaite
Shane Trudy Porter — silent for 34 years, until 4 April 2006, when listener Christine Hunt played her in a charity special, after her husband paid £17,000 to Children in Need.

sparkygran Mon 22-Sept-14 14:22:32

Wow Gracesgran that`s an impressive list. Papaoscar have you thought of taking up script writing!!
