Waterloo Road, bbc1. won't watch again

I think a couple of them were in earlier series of Waterloo Rd.

Are schools really like this these days? I used to teach and also visited schools for another job I had and it was nothing like Waterloo Road - thankfully!!! I'm not watching it again.

I saw the clip where Angela Griffin was behind chanting pupils, shouting 'Silence' - not sure many teachers would say that was likely to get them quiet!!!
A lot of earrings. Hoops are definitely a Health & Safety no-no.
Do they still only have ten kids in a class like John Alderton's room in 'Please Sir'? And 15 year-olds played by 25 yr-olds?

If all we saw on tv was both realistic and naturalistic it would be a combination of terminally boring and very unpleasant.

Drama is not realistic and virtually never naturalistic for good reason- it is entertainment.

WR won’t be to everyone’s taste, but I’m not sure that the GN demographic is the one they are aiming for, really. I quite enjoy it, but I often use tv as a way of switching off, and am willing to suspend disbelief when necessary.

Well I'm finding Waterloo Road entertaining at least. I quite like seeing the familiar adults. Is it realistic or naturalistic? I don't know. Its a world away from the schools I remember but they're back in the dim and distant past.

It's neither , but it's a good after dinner watch IMO. The sort of thing that's perfect for when you've been thinking all day and just want to switch off for the evening. This series looks like a 'part 2' of the last one, as the Danny storyline has carried over.

I was very surprised when the last series ended so abruptly.

I thought last night 13/2/24 it tipped over into a parody of itself. All that’s left is for the school building to collapse.
