She is a genius = her poetry is so simple, and always hits the spot.

Interviewer asked her how to have a long happy marriage and she said "Marry the right person in the first place." Love it.

I was at uni with them both, they’ve not changed a bit.

I love her books, they have been a firm favourite of all 4 of my GC over the years.

I read 3 of them last night on FaceTime to the two little ones tucked up in bed 140 miles away.

I loved it too and enjoyed reciting some of the stories with the readers.
They have suffered great sadness too but what a lovely couple.

I must look for it, I didn’t know it was on. Was it BBC?

BBC 2 Grannynw. Do watch it if you can.

I've always been fascinated by her.
But I'm really a fan of Axel Scheffler.
Tabby McCat is my absolute favourite. Unlike their other books it's set in the 'real world'.

Yes, the books are never as good when they have another illustrator.
They complement (and complete) each other.

I’ve never been able to read Sugarlump and the Unicorn to my granddaughter without crying at the end. So many great children’s authors had personal tragedy. E. Nesbitt, JM Barrie, Dahl I’m sure there are more.

It's heartbreaking

I watched the programme last night before and really enjoyed it. Axel Scheffler’s illustrations are wonderful and it was great to see him in action.

My grandchildren love spotting his characters from one book partially hidden in other books.

I didn’t know about Hamish. What a sad story. I had no idea

I’m not a fan of her books, but obviously in a minority here. I only know the more famous ones.

I have got it. I made paper dolls with my granddaughter when we read it. It wasn’t a book that she seemed to like.
