Loose Women

I have had the odd glimpse of this programme- not one for me.

I used to watch it daily but haven't for some time now.
It's not the same as it was.

It has somewhat lost its way.

Some of the panellists act in an extreme way in their lives.

Not for me either. Often shows women in the worst light, mouthy, strident and indiscreet.

Is not funny, entertaining or interesting !

I caught a clip of this online somewhere this morning. It was the Nadia S... (whatever) woman saying how she kept her dead foetus in the freezer for months. Sad, but weird too.

Is that Nadia who won Bake Off?

No merlot not her - Nadia Sawalha the actress... I read the bit about the foetus in the freezer. Odd, to say the least.

Would take a bet that it was Nadia Swahala (no idea how to spell it.) You know, her sister was in Ab Fab. Nadia herself was in 'Enders years ago.

My husband commented that if men were to talk about women, the way that the ladies on Loose Women talk about men, there would be complaints.

I have mixed views on it, sometimes very entertaining, sometimes irritating.

Coolgran I agree with your husband. Loose Women chat is banal, sexist, vulgar and neither informative nor entertaining. They are precisely the kind of cackling women from whom I shy away in disgust. There are exceptions: Gloria Hunniford and Ruth Langsford for example.. they have dignity, sound principles and are well informed.

I watched 10 minutes of it, that was 9 minutes too much.

I haven't watched it for a very long time. I used to like it when Lynda Bellingham was a panellist. Can't remember who else was on with her though.

I used to watch it but it's gone right down hill. I'm especially not interested in all the soap stars they have one.

Sadly, have to agree that it's gone right downhill. Far too much 'nudge nudge' humour (?) They often raise a really serious topic only for it to deteriorate into farce - such a missed opportunity. I'm very surprised that Janet SP joins in, I thought she would inject some proper debate, even if I didn't agree with her!

Can't stand them. They epitomise the ideal media woman, faces botoxed and over made up, squeezed into clothes a size too small, trying to pretend they are young and trendy by saying things they think are outrageous. Proper debate is not encouraged, find something rude or silly to say about everything. I have just done a walk for IWD about the suffragettes and shudder to think of what they went through and that this is the way women are now.

I agree it has certainly gone down hill, the guests they have had recently really are scraping the barrel!
