SOM is an absolute bucketful of wonderful memories. I took my grandmother to see the film when she was in her eighties. She hadn't been to 'the pictures' for decades and loved it so much she leapt to her feet and applauded at the end of 'Climb Every Mountain' to the amusement of everyone sitting next to us.
It's a must watch film for all the DGDs. They know it backwards.
Went to the singalong version with DD about ten years ago, dressed as a brown paper package.
DH and I saw Connie Fisher's last performance at The Palladium. She was presented with the original score by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
It's as cheesy as hell but I love it.
