Guilty Pleasure: BGT

I am a closet BGT watcher, too. Simon Cowell seems thrilled by the dancing dog Pudsey but I fel once you've seen him once...I'm sure they must spread the promising acts out across the week, otherwise you could have some pretty dud shows. I sit there wondering, 'why am I watching this?' but it is weirdly compelling

I love watching it if only to see David Walliams wind up Simon Cowell

I also love that funny relationship between David Walliams and Simon Cowell. My money is on Pudsey - his owner says she has something special lined up for the final.

I love BGT! I was a little disappointed to see that Ashleigh and Pudsey were in the same semi final as Only Boys Aloud, because I adore both acts, so I was thrilled that they both got through to the final, although I`m secretly rooting for the Welsh boys choir, they`re wonderful, and I think that the Queen would love them.

I just can't bear it!! And if I catch a glimpse of The Voice whilst changing channels, I put my hands over my eyes and make enough noise to drown it out - yuk!! For my money these programmes just feed into the idea that you do not have to work for your successes, but celebrity will drop into your lap - give me the Young Musician of the Year any day! - apart from the dreadful presentation of the programme.

I've not been following it, but heard about Pudsey the dog today, so we're watching ITV2+1 at the moment waiting for Pudsey the dog to come on! What happened to the young lad who was on the first programme? He sang like Pavarotti, and had a girl singing with him?

They are on tonight.

OH! Didn't realise, Ceesnan I'm glad I asked! 'Him in the other chair' just checked Radio Times to see what time - 7.30pm.

Looking forward to it too. They are good, though I think boy has been ill recently. Hope it goes well for them.

I love BGT - DH hates it and is sulking because I've hidden the remote so he can't watch Antiques Roadshow. I love Pudsey and so do my two Jack Russells, I tried to get them to dance with me last night but they put themselves to bed.

Wow - Jonathon and Charlotte the opera singers were amazing - I could listen to them for hours.

They were just wonderful, whenim64. I really do hope they win.

We all 3 of us voted for Jonathan and Charlotte, but IMO the next best act was Kai and Natalia, the ballroom dancers, although tonight`s performance wasn`t exactly ballroom. He reminds me a little, in his style, of Brian Fortuna, he of the sexy bum who used to be on Strictly.

I think the dance group with the dominatrix girl will get a place in the final, though I'd like Kai and Natalia to go through.

Yes, they've obviously worked so hard.

Whoops! I was wrong there. I didn't think Paige would be in the last three. That would be the Scottish vote, I suspect. And I'm not being anti-Scots cos, as most of you know I am Scots.

I don't even pretend to a 'guilty pleasure'. I just love everything on TV to do with performing and am happy to admit it!
This evening I am thrilled that Stagecoach students are in 2 of the final acts
Jonathan is a Stagecoach student, and so is Rhyss from 'Only Boys Aloud'.
I owned a Stagecoach franchise for many years and these days I am a freelance Support Manager for them, and I feel passionately about the skills, discipline and opportunities such classes give to so many young people.
Contrary to what many think, it takes a huge amount of hard work on top of talent (and a massive dollop of luck) to get anywhere in the business, and good luck to anyone who has the guts to go through the ordeal of one of these 'talent' shows.
We see plenty of deluded cringe-worthy entrants in the initial rounds, but the acts who make it to the Finals deserve to be there.

I hear that Pudsey is going to do something involving the judges on Saturday's BGT final. The witty comment was made that perhaps he would pee on Simon!

Jonathan and Charlotte...two delightful people whose voices move me to tears. For me, they are the winners.

Yes, Jonathan and Charlotte are lovely - I expect he will be slimmed down and beautified in the same way as Paul Potts and Susan Boyle.
I just loved the two men dancers - their love for each other just shone out. I would like horatio to see them!

I am not very keen on young children singing songs of love and loss, which they must surely be too young to have experienced. Oh well, I guess 'Nelly the Elephant' doesn't cut it any more!

Tonight I liked Be Minor, Sam Kelly, New School, and Sugar Dandies, the latter despite snorts of derision from grumpy husband. I`d put Sam Kelly first, but don`t know what order I`d put the other 3 in.

I'm not keen on the song choices for young children either, Greatnan. I think that the vocal acrobatics they attempt sound almost silly and my heart goes out to them when they can't pitch the note that's in there somewhere. There have been some lovely performances from young singers that would have been even better if they hadn't been trying to sound as though they had the world on their shoulders.
