Guilty Pleasure: BGT

We put in 3 votes between us for Only Boys Aloud, I thought they were wonderful! Not sure if Jonathan could have stood up to the pressure if he and Charlotte had won, they are very good though.

Lol Gally we were saying the very same! On a similar but different note...couldn't believe that Jonathan and Charlotte were only 16 and 17. The maturity of their voices was stunning. They should have won IMHO

Oh, Gally! He isn't a very young dog. Didn't she get him for her 11th birthday? She's still a teenager, I think. She's planning to set up as a dog trainer and is obviously very gifted in that direction, so will doubtless be training Pudsey's successors for years to come, but not in time for the Royal Variety Show unless she has something else up her sleeve.

What happens if Pudsey goes to the Big Doggy Place in the Sky before the Royal Variety Show? It could happen; Will Ashleigh have to return her 500k?

I think Ashleigh needs to go solo. Pudsey is holding her back.

Technical term 'knackered' had about 2 hours sleep last night due to arthritic pain. Work tomorrow, so off to bed.

My OP said my money was on Pudsey and Ashleigh. For once, I was right! Sadly the said money was only metaphorical.

If a dog can win BGT, then so could I! Shame on you Simon C for being so wet.

Greatnan I like children to be seen as natural as possible. I would also prefer to hear them singing songs that are more appropriate. No matter which acts go through to the final, they are all well deserving. It would be my worst nightmare to perform on a vast stage, in front of judges and an audience of millions [if you include television viewers] I made my mind up the moment I heard Charlotte and Jonathan sing. Jonathan's voice sent shivers down my spine. He's also a very likeable, decent young man. Charlotte must have worked so hard to boost his confidence.

I'm not keen on the song choices for young children either, Greatnan. I think that the vocal acrobatics they attempt sound almost silly and my heart goes out to them when they can't pitch the note that's in there somewhere. There have been some lovely performances from young singers that would have been even better if they hadn't been trying to sound as though they had the world on their shoulders.

Tonight I liked Be Minor, Sam Kelly, New School, and Sugar Dandies, the latter despite snorts of derision from grumpy husband. I`d put Sam Kelly first, but don`t know what order I`d put the other 3 in.

Yes, Jonathan and Charlotte are lovely - I expect he will be slimmed down and beautified in the same way as Paul Potts and Susan Boyle.
I just loved the two men dancers - their love for each other just shone out. I would like horatio to see them!

I am not very keen on young children singing songs of love and loss, which they must surely be too young to have experienced. Oh well, I guess 'Nelly the Elephant' doesn't cut it any more!

Jonathan and Charlotte...two delightful people whose voices move me to tears. For me, they are the winners.

I hear that Pudsey is going to do something involving the judges on Saturday's BGT final. The witty comment was made that perhaps he would pee on Simon!

I don't even pretend to a 'guilty pleasure'. I just love everything on TV to do with performing and am happy to admit it!
This evening I am thrilled that Stagecoach students are in 2 of the final acts
Jonathan is a Stagecoach student, and so is Rhyss from 'Only Boys Aloud'.
I owned a Stagecoach franchise for many years and these days I am a freelance Support Manager for them, and I feel passionately about the skills, discipline and opportunities such classes give to so many young people.
Contrary to what many think, it takes a huge amount of hard work on top of talent (and a massive dollop of luck) to get anywhere in the business, and good luck to anyone who has the guts to go through the ordeal of one of these 'talent' shows.
We see plenty of deluded cringe-worthy entrants in the initial rounds, but the acts who make it to the Finals deserve to be there.

Whoops! I was wrong there. I didn't think Paige would be in the last three. That would be the Scottish vote, I suspect. And I'm not being anti-Scots cos, as most of you know I am Scots.

I think the dance group with the dominatrix girl will get a place in the final, though I'd like Kai and Natalia to go through.

We all 3 of us voted for Jonathan and Charlotte, but IMO the next best act was Kai and Natalia, the ballroom dancers, although tonight`s performance wasn`t exactly ballroom. He reminds me a little, in his style, of Brian Fortuna, he of the sexy bum who used to be on Strictly.
