how to modify Word

Another query.
I was lost the other day when a document I started at the turn of the century got modified by mistake on the latest Word which has so many more options than the old version.
have lost all the photos I added and the light blue background.
The main problem is reading it now by hitting an arrow which turns the page to the right.
While before I was able to move the document up and down.
I realise this is difficult to understand online but it would be SO great to get it back again to the original one

Thanks Role considering I realise it is difficult to understand not actually seeing what I have done
No, that wasn’t the case.
As my old computer no longer worked my son transferred all he could from my old computer before he went back to Africa.
One of the documents was my family history which I started at the turn of the century.
Now, not only is the reading read sideways instead of downwards. I have also lost the blue background and the photos I attached to the file
