The TuTu Skirt?

Not for me either .
To carry off this look you need to be willowy and tall .
I do wear 1950's puff petticoats and dresses in the summer occasionally .
I was doing very well with my weight loss until a long bout of illness set in .

I think it's already out there. Both my younger daughters have longish tulle skirts - which is basically what these are.

The older daughter has two of these that I've seen her in - she's been wearing one for at least three or four years. She wore one to a friend's wedding with a high necked blouse but mostly wears the frothier of the two with a big chunky jumper or boxy jacket and used to wear it to work. It's a surprisingly versatile garment it seems to me.

My other daughter only wears hers to party in but it is very nice on her with a long slim fitting top over it (think long-length M&S scoop neck thermal vests!).

I don't think that many fashions develop to suit an "apple" shape to be honest.

I too like that look, but certainly wouldn't work for this 5ft tall, dumpy old lady!

DD1 has a skirt like this. I love it and tried it on…..if only I wasn’t 74! If she ever discards it I will take it to wear around the house. 😂

I really like them, disclaimer I have several gauzy maxi skirts I wear on holiday.

I'm ballet obsessed, so bring it on. I think it will feel light and floaty in the summer, if we ever get one. It's not a proper tutu though. I had several hand made and the tulle pleating is boxed and layered pretty much from the waist to make it stick out.
I would wear the ones in the photos with pumps.
I think I saw either Dior or Chanel have an upcoming fashion show with some creative pieces like that.

I love the look and the young me would have worn them. I look back wistfully at all my fabulous mini/maxi skirts now.

I've found one to suit your dumpy Bramley apple style mae13. You could ask if it comes in green!

Well, it looks lovely on my 17 year old granddaughter.

Not every fashion suits everybody so, if we have any sense, we pick and choose what suits us best.

NotSpaghetti: yes, that's it! I imagine you can only make a skirt like that work if you only eat 1 digestive biscuit per week. Sad, because they do look elegant.......

I've always worn almost that kind of skirt.
I think they're lovely, and I like all of those photos, too.

I like the long ones, but I think they only suit the young and slim - not me!

I love the pic with the sweatshirt over the dress.
It isn't body hugging either.

The gauzy, shorty ones are a different story.
