Perm or what?

My auntie (96) is mourning the loss of her mobile hairdresser to a cleaning job! Auntie says that Hairdresser used to put something on her hair, not a perm but something to keep it in shape or wavy! What could it be? Auntie doesn't know, but I should like to.

Could you or she contact the erstwhile hairdresser and ask what it was she used?

Could be a Demi wave. Not as strong as a 'perm' but gives a bit of body.

Thanks all. Demi wave sounds ok, but I will ask Auntie to see if she knows hairdresser's number.
