He has been a first class player and manager , deserves some praise for what he achieved within the England camp and team.

A thankless job, he has received nothing but insults from ex footballers, I would have loved to see if they could have done better.

He has got them to the final twice, it is then up to the footballers themselves. But like my husband would say, I am the boss so I carry the can.

Southgate has been a great England manager. He changed the culture and moulded an excellent young team. I’m sorry but nit surprised he’s decided to go.

Everyone could see the difference when Palmer and Watkins came on with both scoring an incredible goal apiece but Southgate would leave it too long to bring them on. As for the next manager. I would rather it isn't Graham Potter. Frying pans and fires spring to mind. If the FA want an English manager, then Eddie Howe, current Newcastle manager, if not then Klopp, Tuchel, Conte & Mourinho would be welcomed.

Pep won't come cheap although both him and Klopp have said they would love to manage a national team sometime in the future, so who knows. I would dearly love to see England lift another major footballing trophy. I was 18 when it last happened. I live in hopes of experiencing that joy again.

Not Mourinho - I’ve enjoyed him over the years but he was hopeless at manu.

It’s easy for us all to be pundits from the safety of our sofas. Fwiw my view was Kane should’ve stayed home, he seemed tired and unfit. He talked about everyone being tired after after a tough long season. As he was there, i was calling from the sofa for the last two games, put Watkins or Palmer on to start. Keep Kane in reserve for the last ten minutes if yiu need him.
Southgate has been a good manager. I hope he gets praise nit moaning .
