Is this the thing that’s largely bright red? If so, I had it yesterday and today. Seems to be doing a scan? I was a bit alarmed at first. It happened when I was simply reading posts not writing one

Thank goodness it isn’t just me! I have been ignoring it but it’s always a worry, especially as I’m such a technophobe.

I had a pop up a couple of weeks ago that would cover the bit of the screen when I wanted to quote a post, so I couldn’t quote anything.

I've had it too, it's unpleasant and slightly scary!

I've had it several times. Also perhaps a separate issue, the screen freezes half sentence.
I shall try writing several short posts, before the horrid red and white pop up comes 🫪

A warning if you use Vinted, I was ordering something and a screen popped up asking for me to confirm my payment details etc., stupidly I did this thinking it was Vinted asking for this, then found out that I had subscribed to a craft advice site and £39.99 had been taken from my account. Luckily it wasn’t a scam but an actual craft site whom I contacted and demanded that they cancel my subscription making sure I told them in no uncertain terms that their pop ups on vinted were very misleading.

McAfee here, highly annoying, keeps running a scan.

I’ve had Macafee and AV ( all red) pop up in recent days, scanning for virus etc. I delete
I asked Google which recommended clearing cache
I plan to explore more tomorrow. The AV is new to me but Google tells me it charges subscriptions that aren’t easy to dismiss

I’m on an iPad..looks like it’s a scam. Only happening on Gransnet…so far. Wonder if the site’s been hacked?

Oh, I thought it was just me and have spent some time this afternoon trying to get rid of it unsuccessfully.

It purports to be McAfee but it's a scam and extremely annoying. Only on Gransnet.
