Whatever happened to Book of the Month

Yes I remember the Book of the Month. I was lucky enough to receive a book. I read it, didn't enjoy it and duly posted my review.

Yes, I remember book of the month, too. I won a few times too, and posted reviews. They don’t seem to do any competitions at all now, though, not just the book one.

It seems a while ago now, shame it stopped, even if I didn't apply for the book in question, I was interested in the suggestions, I do believe American Dirt was one of them, that was a great read.

Maybe it wasn't, having read the link supplied, I seem to remember it being promoted on here

Yes, I remember. I was successful most months and enjoyed reading and commenting on the books.
I don't even look at the competition page any more, but have just checked and found that it still active. I won a few items and books suitable for my GCs at the time, but they are grown up now.

I don’t miss it as I never take any notice of suggestions for books. I have my own list of favourite authors which will outlive me and I’m sure many others feel the same.

They used to post the names of winners as well.

I got many books and several other prizes too. My favourites were the ones predicting the outcomes of things like the World Cup.
I won a tea towel just before COVID hit and I never did receive it. That was the last time I saw a competition on GN.
All the old staff at GNHQ have gone now and it's just a part of MN now.
