Call supposedly about my internet

Landline call - knew as soon as I picked it up it was a scam one - firstly, long pause, then foreign sounding person asking 'how I was?'
Then he asked about the speed of my internet. So, after considering the question - with care, I told him I was not very sure but somewhere between 5 mph and 10 mph.
He put the phone down on me!!!
