Thank you, it’s a special time of year even if you are not religious.
Out walking in the Yorkshire Dales last week was magical, lambs, blossom, bulbs and the smell of wild garlic.

Yes, memories of childhood Easters are lovely. My sister and I had new dresses and coats, and I think that was when we started to wear short white socks again after the winter knee length navy ones. New shoes too. Dad always had two hot cross buns for breakfast on Good Friday.

Mum would cut out the toes in the Summer holidays so she didn’t have to buy new shoes for me before the Autumn term.

I didn’t get new clothes at Easter, it tended to be at Whitsuntide when I might get a new dress or some sandals (finances depending, I think). Easter tended to still be on the cold side for getting new clothes more often than not, plus come the summer, I had probably put on a growth spurt so clothes bought at Easter wouldn’t fit. I did get an Easter egg, though.
