Tourist Tax? What Will Be Taxed Next?

I believe this is the “gentleman” who claims his mother’s address details have been “doxxed” (shared publicly without consent) by the media and insisting that his mother be bought a new house in a different location, for her own safety!
Apparently his Mother's name was discovered when researchers were looking through his details and found her name and address on an official company document. He had made her as executive, or similar.
All his own fault.
He has raised over £60k so far, via a fund raiser for his mother to help her locate to another address from his supporters 🤷♀️
He comes across as very controlling and somewhat manipulative. He can only state he does not plan to be in Portsmouth tomorrow and neither will there be any planned official PP presence?
His PP followers/disciples/supporters/sympathisers are their own persons with their own free will.
He’s a very dangerous young man, who has already got a criminal record, who was “gifted” £30,000 in the last month, directly from one source in the USA to help organise his “protests” with men wearing black clothes and balaclavas.
These are not “protests”, these are anonymous mobs, who at the second “protest” vandalised police cars.
Again, conflicting reports. I read that the protests were peaceful with no trouble. On Facebook there is huge support for the protesters mainly from women.
Where specifically did you read the Portsmouth protesters were peaceful and no trouble?
Do you think the police lied in their published reports of injured officers, damaged police vehicles and the need to get an arrest warrant because the protestors were forming road block that resulted in asylum seekers arrivals being stuck on a bus till 3am unable to be taken to a processing centre?
The Police have now been instructed to ask these masked men to remove their face coverings if they are seen to be 'protesting'.
Police have the power to designate an area "face covering free" but they must make that decision known to potential protesters. Then the protesters have to comply - or move to another area.
If they don't comply they can be arrested and held in all the empty jail cells we don't have, charged with wearing a face covering etc, appear in court, contest it or not (probably saying they didn't know it was a designated area), and get given whatever the penalty is.
That'll work well.

Well I suppose women can also support whoever they want to support, it doesn’t mean they are well informed or less likely to be led by their own prejudices.
And it certainly wasn’t peaceful inasmuch as both the police and RNLI were under attack.
Unless of course the police and RNLI are in cahoots and both lying 🙄
If some women on Facebook want to support violent protesters I guess thats their choice. They also may not be aware of the full detail of the protester's actions and behaviour 🤷♀️

First arrest over anti-migrant protests in Portsmouth - as police say anyone wearing masks could be detained
Police officers were injured and vehicles damaged in an anti-migrant protest in Portsmouth, after a boat carrying migrants arrived in the city on Sunday. A 42-year-old man has become the first person to be arrested in connection with anti-migration protests in Portsmouth last weekend, with more arrests expected. Del Leon Somerville, was arrested on Friday morning and has been charged with violent disorder and assaulting a police constable in the execution of their duty. The force said a number of police officers were injured and vehicles damaged during an anti-migrant protest in Portsmouth on Sunday as demonstrators clashed with police after an RNLI boat carrying more than 100 migrants arrived in the city.
The protesters blocked roads leading to the port for hours and vowed to stay all night, with around 200 people being dispersed at around 4am on Monday morning. On Friday the force also announced that officers will use new powers banning face coverings at another anti-migrant protest planned for Portsmouth this weekend. It means mask-wearers could be arrested in the area designated by the order. Hampshire Police said it will use this new tactic under the Crime and Policing Act to "allow peaceful protest and prevent violence".
Assistant Chief Constable Paul Bartolomeo, of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, said: "We have listened to the concerns of our communities and know how intimidated they feel when they see masked groups descend on their neighbourhoods. "This is why we are making use of these new policing powers, to ensure we have every tactic at our disposal, should we need it."
Is the person arrested a member of the "Patriot" group, another group, or just some independent antagonist?

The protest last week was not trouble free as LemonJam has explained.
The one in Portsmouth today, when I looked earlier, was trouble free with no masks.
I’m not sure which one you refer to?
It all depends on how membership of the Patriot Platform is defined and what has to be done to officially be a member.
I suspect that the number of fully paid up members of Patriot Plarform is strictly limited so that its figurehead David 'Tommo' can disown all those followers doing everything he says, dressing in the uniform he advocates, behaving as he recommends and do everything required to be associated with Patriot Platform, by saying that they are not members of his organisation, so whatever happens is nothing to do with him.
Have you seen any reports of "independent antagonistic' individuals alongside the Patriots?
Are you suggesting the Del Leon Somerville, the first person arrested, was an 'independent' member of the public, who had no prior knowledge of this anti asylum seeker arrival pre planned, well orchestrated protest event? That is he just happened to be somewhere in the Marina vicinity (the protesters formed a road block so how would he get through that?) who happened to be antagonistic, happened to have a violent tendency happened to be anti asylum seekers and decided to join the road block and start throwing bottles and kicking police officers etc?
Patriot Platform is actually a moulding together of a series of local far right groups under a single leader and all those pre existing groups define themselves as 'Patriots' who have hatred of people migrating to the UK from abroad. Daniel Thomas is the PP leader who coordinates all these far right groups.
It sounds like Del Leon Somerville positions himself as a 'patriot' and happy to be violent to demonstrate as a 'patriot'. On the balance of probability it is more likely Del Leon Somerville is a member of one of those local far right groups that Daniel Thomas coordinated for the event. Daniel Thomas as far as I am aware has not made any public statement to disassociate himself or his group of supporters from the actions of Del Leon Somerville.
They are called Patriot 'affiliates'- ie all the local groups willing to come under the command and coordination of Daniel Thomas.
l asked a question, l didn't suggest anything.
Btw- The Guardian isn't always right.
Sure Oldfrill and you appeared to pose your question inviting posters to respond. I chose to answer your question, is that ok with you? I'm getting my information from a wide ranging variety of sources- how about you? If there are any factual inaccuracies in anything I post I am always willing to be corrected. You have not highlighted any inaccuracies so far 😊
"I suspect that the number of fully paid up members of Patriot Platform is strictly limited"- Interesting question M0nica re is membership capped or limited - so I goggled:
"No, the Patriot Platform does not operate under a "fully paid-up membership limited" model; rather, its leader heavily utilises monthly subscription-based fees to monetise and sustain the group.
The Patriot Platform is a newly emerged, UK-based anti-migrant extremist network founded in the summer of 2026 by Daniel Thomas (known online as "Danny Tommo").
How Membership and Funding Work
Monthly Subscriptions Rather than a one-off lifetime membership, the group's digital ecosystem is heavily driven by recurring fees. For example, visitors to Thomas's primary media channels are prompted to pay a £4.99 monthly fee to subscribe and gain official access to the online community.
High Recurring Costs According to reports tracking the group's operations, the active costs associated with keeping up with direct actions, specialised gear (such as the group's distinct uniform of black balaclavas and jackets), and coordinating events can ultimately run up to hundreds of pounds a month per member.
External Networks Beyond grassroots subscriptions, the group's leadership has historically relied on external funding networks, including tens of thousands of dollars in financial backing from wealthy conservative and anti-Islam think tanks in the United States. The model is structured around a continuous stream of monthly micro-payments and direct donations rather than a single, fixed-payment membership limit".
There’s money in these funding models of far right groups as was evident in the documentary earlier this week about Tommy Robinson. Thats is how are Tommy Robinson’s donations spent (ie a large part channelled via a number of companies directly to Robinson himself and his ex wife when married- it is alleged).
