Another horrifying attack on innocent people. I do hope the two that have been seriously injured make a full recovery.

I honestly believe our Jewish community are now the most vulnerable to terrorism, more so than any other demographic in this country.

Who indeed! I think the MoL needs to put a few more police in this area, but it’s also hard to see if a random bloke suddenly bobs up and starts stabbing people how this itself could be stopped?

This community deserves to be able to about their daily basis safely.

The police are severely stretched and they are patrolling more around synagogues. It would be very difficult to stop this as random attacks such as this one can happen anywhere at any time.
It is sickening that violence against the Jewish community is getting worse. All we can do is condemn it as much as possible but it won't stop those who hate Jews carrying out this despicable and senseless violence.
Just come up on my newsfeed that a Jewish man is now stable. Wishing him well.

This problem needs much more budget spent on it. I think there needs to be a dedicated counter terrorism unit assigned to deal with anti semitism. The problem is not going away but seems to be gathering momentum. Not a satisfactory response from government so far.

The suspect has been charged. The truth behind it I hope will come out and lessons learned.

I agree it must be frightening for the community.

Any stabbing like this is wrong, regardless of who you are. People should be allowed to go about their business without this happening to them.

Yes, they did at the time. And some accused a couple of Jewish posters on here of being hysterical and worked up.
To be fair, I think of late we have a far more understanding readership of the problem on here.
Or is it because antisemitism is now blatantly staring everyone in the face and can no longer be played down?
Personally I knew it was always there.

It must be so worrying for people particularly those with children I think.

I can understand the reasoning behind moving.

I would definitely move out of an area if I was Jewish and it had a high concentration of Jewish folk.

Too easy for terrorists to identify a group and cause mayhem. Not so easy if as a Jewish person I spread myself into the local community, although if I am a practicing Jew the synagogue must be a risk.

DH has just said that the person arrested has mental health issues?

So many of these dreadful acts are carried out by people who are seriously ill. It does need addressing.

Glad they caught him,but having seen the video of the arrest,it is utterly disgraceful.Two policeman repeatedly kicking the suspect in the head!…….this is when he was on the ground having already been tasered!Lucky he is still alive,they were really kicking him hard.Glad it is on video though.

He was still armed and refusing to drop the knife.

They should have just asked him nicely.

The police officers were unarmed. They did not know if he had a gun or bomb, he concealed his hand apparently. They were brave to tackle him in my view.

Well I certainly remember those comments.

WWM2 says in her post that she would think of moving out of an area with a high Jewish community if she was Jewish. That's her honest response but isn't it absolutely disgraceful to even think of that as a solution? I don't mean you're disgraceful WWM2, but that moving away to a less 'Jewish area' being a solution some will feel compelled to take is disgraceful.

The leader of the Green Party, Zack Polanski, a Jew himself but not religious or practising, came in for criticism having suggested that it could be a 'perception of danger' amongst Jews and not a real one. Let him tell that to the two men stabbed today. The police are treating it as a terrorist incident, they don't do that lightly, but of course antisemitics will try to play it down and reduce the seriousness.

Those of us with Jewish family and friends see their fear and concern, it is not imagined.

If they had been armed police they would have had every right to shoot him.

Maybe we can’t do anything personally but the Government could ban the weekly demonstrations for Palestine which seem to incite the crowd and increases the hatred toward Jews.
