Yes, it's an interesting alternative view to the prevailing noise coming from the USA, isn't it? No surprise that the challenge comes from Californians. I have travelled a little in the US and have been intrigued by the differences from state to state, in legislation, education, and mindset.
It is difficult for me, coming from such a tiny country, to see how a leader might manage so much diversity of culture, expectations and needs.
I wonder if Mr Trump has looked to other large nations - China, Russia, and decided that dictatorships are the only way to go.
