Sir Laurie Magnus, the independent adviser on ministerial standards, said he had "not identified evidence of improprieties" connected with Siddiq.

"A lack of records and lapse of time has meant that, unfortunately, I have not been able to obtain comprehensive comfort in relation to all the UK property-related matters referred to in the media."

Sounds totally inconclusive due to lack of data and therefore warrants further investigation.

Starmer has lost a good friend and neighbour.

Whether the accusations against her are true or false, to hold on the specific job she had where she was responsible for tackling corruption in UK financial markets for weeks afterthe accusations were first made just shows her unsuitability for the job she had.

Anyone in that particular post has to be the purest of the pure, and if accused, even incorrectly, should immediately step down from the post until proved innocent (or not)
