Sad if it's true. People have the right to be innocent until proven guilty but it's awful if people abuse their position. Unfortunately I can see houses of parliament being rife with this.
if a person has been arrested, then this matter is sub judice. see contempt of court act 1981, section 1, strict liability rule. imposes criminal sanctions on both publishers and authors if deemed to have made prejudicial comment.
Apparently he has said he’s confident that he won’t be charged. We can only wait and see. Many people have been arrested on suspicion of having committed an offence, only to be released without charge.
People are named, because the police have found that it frequently encourages others who may have been hurt by the named person.
In fairness he wasn’t named by the police though, he named himself if you read the article. I think there is more to this than meets the eye, although goodness knows what exactly.
Well in fairness Crispin Blunt had no compunction about defending a MP found guilty of assaulting a 15 year old boy so I could say I will behave with the same respect towards him and the law as he did to others.
