This looks a good idea, but I am wondering about the selection process, which is to involve a polling organisation to get a range of views.

It's interesting that some of the people selected for the Irish version did not attend meetings and others dropped out.
I think the assembly members would need all sorts of protection (in terms of social media, personal security etc) if they are to give honest, practical, public opinions on the more contentious issues.
However, it might help future Scottish governments (of whatever party) avoid some of the pitfalls of the past. I'd be interested to know what others think.
