can anyone explain these terms

The solicitor should explain all this before completion. Possessory Title means the property was not previously registered and there are no title deeds proving ownership, however, the seller will have been in uncontested possession of the property for a number of years. An Indemnity Policy, paid for by the seller, has been taken out so the purchaser is covered in the event someone comes forward who can prove they actually own the property.
