Looking for advice.
Am moderately deaf.have nhs behind the ear hearing aids which I rarely use as they interfere with my glasses.
Am thinking about in the ear aids and have seen them advertised on line.
Have any of you bought them? Are they any good?

I don't know a lot about them but my audiologist said to me because I get a lot of ear infections, that they would not be suitable for me, personally.

Loopyloo, how do your HA's interfere with your specs? Spectacles should be put on quite firmly over top of HA's, I wear both and never have any problems.

I would say the NHS devices will be superior to any over the counter hearing aids. You should have your glasses adjusted to be compatable with sharing your ears with hearing aid. There are spectacles that have the hearing aid attached to the arm of the glasses.

When I was first diagnosed as hard of hearing and struggling with the NHS aids, I bought in the ear ones which were fine until they started to cause eczema in my ears so switched to over the ear ones and odd times they got pulled out when taking my glasses off. Sue to now having severe hearing loss I'm back using the NHS which are more substantial so they don't come out when I'm removing my glasses. A relative had had in the ear aids for a number of years and is very happy with the. Ultimately though different hearing aids suit different people.

I wear both as well and don't have any problems, my hearing aids are very comfortable and I haven't had a problem from day 1.

I have worn external hearing aids with glasses for many years. The only problem I had was with the mask during COVID. You need to discuss this with your audiologist who will help you to get the combination right.
