Feeling afraid

Sorry, but I’m afraid I can’t offer any advice; however it does seem as if your doctor is progressing matters and I hope that will bring results, treatment and relief for you very soon. The not knowing is the worst thing, isn’t it? I do hope you hear something soon.

I shouldn't be too worried about the protein & blood still being there.Being on blood thinners, you may well have traces of blood for a while after a UTI. Likewise, a week isn't very long for the proteinurea to have resolved after an infection.
& it's good that she has incidentally noted the ulcers, which you weren't aware of, because although they're probably nothing to worry about,it's got to be better to know about them & get them checked out.

I wouldn’t worry if your GP says she isn’t worried. When I had atrophy a few years ago I would have loved to have some reassurance from my doctor but her only comment was ‘ I wouldn’t start panicking yet’; in fact she didn’t even mention atrophy. I was worried sick for weeks till all my scans etc pointed to atrophy.

Don’t be afraid. Your Doctor isn’t worried. I used to have regular UTIs and there was always blood in the urine. Had internal examinations, scans etc but nothing was found. I was so scared, at the time, I couldn’t take it all in. Tbh, I can’t even remember what the diagnosis was. I was given a long course of antibiotics and advised to drink lots of water. This could be a myth, but pantiliners can cause UTIs. Maybee70 - your Doctor certainly has no ‘bedside manner’.

Thanks to all of you. Yes lichen sclerosis was mentioned a couple of years ago, but not since.
She’s taken swabs for thrush as well.
A month ago my urine was all ok.
This infection has really messed things up.
This is the first uti since starting blood thinners though.
My anxiety has got way out of control. Thanks for replying

The fact that your doctor isn’t worried is a good thing, but I get how hard it is to find comfort in that when your mind keeps running through all the “what-ifs.” With the blood thinners and the history of atrophy and infections, it makes sense that things could be a little more complicated, but you’re doing the right thing by staying on top of it and seeing a gynae.
