Pneumococcal vaccination

I had my pneumonacoccal vaccination many years ago with no side effects.

Had mine last year along with the shingles vaccine both quick and painless with zero side affects.

It's an invitation not a summons. I had it a number of years ago and was absolutely fine.

I had both a few weeks ago. No side effects and absolutely fine. I had them a fortnight apart.

You don't have to accept the invitation, but very foolish not to do so.

Had it last year. No bother at all. Glad to have the additional protection.

Had mine with no problem 4 years ago. Luckily said no the the offered shingles jab at the same time aa I didnt want to have both on the same day. So delayed it for a few weeks.

Unbeknown to me then I had the beginnings of Non Hodgkins Lymphoma so the live shingles jab could have been a problem.

I finally had Shingrix the non live shingles jab when chemo had finished. And after sadly I had had a nasty dose of shingles.

I had the shingles and the pneumonia jabs last week absolutely no side effects. I had one in each arm and didn’t even have an aching arm. I was 70 earlier in February and contacted the doctor 2 weeks ago to ask why I hadn’t been invited for the jabs and they made me an appointment with the practice nurse.

I had mine at the height of Covid.
The lady I support had hers just this week. The nurse was very thorough going through her medical history and even putting in a call to the hospital pharmacist as A is on medication she hadnt heard of to make sure there were no contra-indications.
Neither of us had any side effects.

Had it, no side effects, just relieved that, unlike my poor mother and her sister, it is an illness I will not have in old age. It knocked both of them out and in pain for at least six months.

I’ll be requesting mine after my flu and Covid booster booked for six weeks time. I’m not eligible for the shingles one yet.

I had both many years ago. No ill effects and I am grateful for any protection that it offers.

I had to be proactive and ask for it, no side effects at all . Shingles all done too in Spring. Anything to keep the bugs at bay!

I had the pneumonia vaccine in one arm and the flu vaccine on the other arm
Felt a bit rough for 24 hours so I think split the vaccines up. Not both on same day

Had it and the shingles vaccine as soon as was eligible - I rang and requested and no issues at all - my motto is better safe than sorry but it is definitely your choice to make - none are compulsory

I had one a couple of years ago too, no problems. I'm sure it must be worthwhile or the NHS wouldn't be paying to have it done.

Have them together and get it over with as otherwise you may feel rough on two occasions!

I had mine at same time as flu inj last year. Slight sore arm next day but minimal discomfort.

Sorry to sidetrack. I think the shingles jab should be given sooner than age 70. I had shingles in my 60s and it was horrible.

It is 65 now, i am having my first one this year.

Thanks for that info, it's passed me by! I'm turning 70 next month but still haven't been called for the jab
