back passage leaks

Couple of questions, you say you notice them after going to the loo. Maybe stating the bleeding obvious, but are you wiping thoroughly?

Also, do you ever have the "marks" before you go? If so, those would be more indicative of "leaks".

I think this can, in fact, be caused by constipation. If you get bunged up then liquid stool only finds its way past the blockage.

You might also consider a specialist pelvic floor physiotherapist, who can help with strengthening the pelvic floor. Of course, your GP is your fist port of call, but I mention the physio, as some doctors don't always 'think physio'.
If constipation, then your practice nurse will be the expert!

My mother had a similar problem so went to her Doc thinking it was piles.

Turned out the leaks were caused by a weeping pressure sore which she inadvertently aggravated every time she wiped herself.

It was easily sorted.

Thinking of someone I know who has had this sort of problem, I would say that one possible cause is heamorrhoids, and these can easily be 'banded' as a day patient.
However, I imagine there are many possible causes of leaking,, so seeing the doctor is definitely the correct - and only- first step to take.

I agree with Gonegirl's explanation.
I had a friend with the same problem and it was due to constipation.
Might not be right but worth checking out.

buy some Fibogel sachets,its just adding fibre to your diet which could be lacking enough and casuing the leaks.

In fact, the person I know who has had this problem is taking Fibrogel now (on prescription), and has been free of the problem since starting to use it - though that does also coincide with the most recent haemorrhoid treatment too!

But get that appt. with the doctor made, as there is no point self medicating when you don't know what is actually causing the problem.

No, not constipated, that's never been one of my things. It's after the toilet visit, no leaks before. I have noticed I have had to run to the toilet a couple of times I think my pelvic floor might be giving up! Although no urine issues at all. Thanks again everyone.

A friend told me that she had anal 'tags' which were causing her a problem with leakage. I can't say that it was a subject we discussed in detail!! However, she went to the doctor who arranged for her to have a minor operation to get rid of them.
