Having moved 15 months ago I have been so impressed by our new GP. Sadly , I can’t say the same about dental care in the area.
I had a wonderful private dentist before I moved. I was working , could afford the enormous bills and as someone who is totally dentalphobic I felt I had made a good choice of practice. It was super modern and they knew what I needed to be able to attend .
However, I am now in fairly desperate need of a new dentist , I have some issues including I think an abscess and I can’t find an NHS practice that is accepting patients and I’m even struggling to find a private practice. I’d rather not go private now I’m retired but if that’s all there is I will.
Does anyone know if I can go to the GP and ask for antibiotics to treat the abscess ( I have had them before from the dentist) while I try and find a practice?
I’ve used the NHS online tool and asked on the village FB with no success at finding a practice. Does anyone know if , as an emergency I could be treated even though I’m not registered at the practice?
Sorry for the long post - any help or advice would be greatly appreciated .
