Sun protection

Just reading a mention of sun protection on another thread made me think that I don’t think I ever used sun protection on our children ( 1970-80s)
I know I never had sun cream applied as a child, and it was commonplace to see babies as ‘ brown as berries’.

As I understand changes in the atmosphere caused by pollution mean that more UV light is getting through to the earth than in the past and has caused the need to protect our skin from more than just burning from over-exposure.
