Colonoscopy

Hi ladies, my first post! I had to have my appendix removed 6 weeks ago and surgeon said my ileum was inflamed so had to have a colonoscopy 24 hrs ago, all went well and nothing was found apart from signs of diverticulitis in the bowel..today my tummy is really cramping up, wasn’t really expecting this. Going to Tenerife on Tuesday so want this gone pretty quick..any advice?

Call 111, they will advise whether this is normal or not.

Gosh I was really hoping not to have to do that, but I know it makes sense..I’m such a wimp!

I agree with Nonnie. I did not have that problem post a colonsoscopy. Better to get it checked out in this country because you may not be insured for this if there is a problem in Tenerife.

Literature given post colonoscopy usually says that problems can arise any time up to several weeks after. You need to get it sorted asap to prevent it spoiling your holiday.

I had cramps and terrible wind pains for a few days following a colonoscopy. I remember that I could only get comfortable lying on one side . Hope it clears soon Bubblegum it makes sense to ring 111 if you are worried though .

The same happened to me. Soon cleared up though. Ring 111 just to put your mind at rest.

I've had several colonoscopies and this happens every time.
It's 99.9% wind.
But make that phone call to put your mind at rest.
