Air filters

after my GS's serious Asthma attack and refusal to let a needle anywhere near him,I have decided to buy air filters to try to cut down allergens in his home .Can anyone recommend a make and model that has good results ?I've looked at Dyson and Homedics .

DD 1 and GS have come to stay and have plugged in a Dimplex machine, DD1 says that son is much better with it than without it, they are here on their way to Wales for a holiday and they take it everywhere with them.
