Can you have a touch of shingles?

I had shingles back in the spring, thankfully not too badly, though it did last a few weeks, so I am well aware of typical symptoms.
The other day I had a sore, itchy rash on one side, very similar to the shingles one, and at the same time had the odd, sort of stabbing needle sensation around my breastbone, at the same level as the rash. Again similar to what I had before, though in a different area.

Was all ready to charge off to GP but after maybe 36 hours both symptoms had completely disappeared.
Very odd!
Can't think what else it could have been.

Yes, I woke up with a really sharp pain in my back. There was a rash as well. I saw the doctor the same day and he prescribed some tablets. The pain and the rash disappeared in three days.

I once had a line of blisters on my side with accompanying pain but it only lasted a few days. It was gone before I could get to a doctor, so I didn't have a diagnosis.

Thanks, everybody. I'm pretty sure now it must have been a very mild case.
Unlike now, I was very tired and thoroughly run down when I got it before, so will try to make sure I don't get into that sort of state again!

Not sure how correct this is, but i read yesterday that statins can set shingles off
