I was in London when streaking was common and was eating my lunch by the Thames and a streaker shot past.
I don't know if he was caught or any action taken.

Was streaking ever common? It happened occasionally at a cricket match (Lord's?) and the odd football match. I lived in London for nearly 60 years and never saw a streaker in a department store, supermarket, local park, on the school run, in a tube train or any of the places where people commonly went.

I am not saying it was common in London.
Common in the sense it was happening a lot more over the country.
That was the only streaker I saw except on TV.
It was behind some offices in either Upper or Lower Themes street where bank workers went to eat their lunch in summer.
I never heard any news reports about it so it may never have been reported to the police.
I do remember a news report about a streaker in a supermarket but I can not remember where.
I can remember a report about a female streaker at a tennis march.

I used to teach with a chap whose sister was the streaker at, I think Lord's (or was it a rugby match?) I think her name was Erica Rowe. Anybody remember?

Streaking never happened around here - the cutting east wind rather discourages it perhaps - any bloke trying to streak would have little to show for it.

Erica Roe, she was a very buxom young lady. I remember the male streaker who had his bits covered up by a bobby`s helmet. I often wondered how the bobby felt at having to wear the helmet afterwards!

Erica was the first to hit the headlines. She certainly set a trend - wonder where she is now. Probably a gran! Hello, Erica, are you out there?

I never saw a streaker where I live either, way too cold up north
