Requesting recipe for crumble

You don't have to put oats in. Basic crumble, for me, 150 grms plain flour, 75 grams butter, same amount sugar, rub butter and flour together, dont overwork it, stir in sugar, spread over fruit, bake 160 fan for about 40 mins. Longer if you want a browner top, sprinkle of demerara sugar on top is lovely.
My favourite pud.

Yes, it's a basic pastry recipe without the liquid. Half fat to flour. Same amount of sugar as fat.

I seldom add anything. I don't like the texture of oats.

0.4 quantity sugar

Melt the butter in a saucepan, let it cool a little, stir in the flour and sugar. Because rubbing in is equivalent to stuffing a mushroom.

If you have a food processor make 3 or 4 times the quantity and freeze what you don't use. Even easier than going to buy a packet each time 😃

I use Delia's recipe every time. Always have a bag full of it in the freezer. Tins of Apple slices in the larder and "Bob's your Uncle" as my old mum would say - add a bit of lemon juice and Brown sugar to the apples.

The recipes here sound just like the proportions I use for my crumbles. I sometimes add a few nuts when I mix the crumble in the food processor.

I always add hazelnuts crushed, and often cinnamon. With tons of lemon skin and juice to the apples (if using).

I do as you do Callistemon extra for the freezer.

M&S crumble topping (in a pink box). Tip contents into a bowl and add 4 oz of melted butter, don't overmix. Spoon onto fruit, rhubarb from the garden at the moment, yum.!

50g brown sugar
50g butter
100g plain flour

Fruit of choice fresh but cooked to soften tinned from a jar or frozen about 400g.

Rub crumble ingredients together I leave mine lumpy I also bake it separate from fruit I want to top. Cooked until golden top fruit in baking tin put back in the oven for about five mins.

180c fan 160c about 35/45 mins depends on colour you want
sprinkle sugar on top.

I love a savoury crumble Doodledog. I sometimes add sunflower seeds and nuts into the crumble.. and always cheese..

I've never made a veggie crumble. Yesterday i made a cherry crumble and a mango and raspberry one,using frozen fruit. I buy the packets of crumble mix and they live in the freezer.
