how did you do it. Didn't proof read properly!

I can make it in my Pressure cooker/slow cooker but so far have not tried ( it was a Christmas present) Looking in the book it says
700ml Full Fat Milk
150 ml 18% Single Cream
150 ml Kefir ( I know Sainsburys sell this but I expect other supermarkets do too.)
It takes 8 hours .

Can it be made with skimmed milk? isabella.

I haven't made yogurt for years but I used to also put some milk powder in as well as milk which made it thicker.

If I do it with skimmed milk I use some milk powder as well because otherwise it’s a bit too thin. I also find UHT milk makes better youghurt. I make 1 Ltr at a time.

Thanks all. I am going to use full fat milk but unsure how much of a starter live yoghort to put in and when. Not bothered if its thin as straining it makes it thicker the more you strain

2 litres of milk, 2 tablespoons of live yoghurt, whisk it into warmed milk.

I make kefir every day and drink it every morning. I find it pretty disgusting but am assured it is doing me good. It is easy to do - just pour 250ml organic milk onto the kefir granules and let it stand for 24 hours at room temperature.

I dont know if yoghurt is the same but you cannot use metal spoons or containers.

I used the bbc good food recipe at recently and it turned out really well. I used long life full fat milk. Sorry can't post the link but it should come up if you google it. Just two ingredients. You wrap the slow cooker in a towel overnight after heating to the correct temperature. Easy to follow instructions.

All the recipes I’ve looked at say either 4 pints or 2 litres (approx)

There’s no way the two of us can eat 4 pints of yoghurt. Can I just adjust amounts pro-rata and what about cooking time? I’d imagine this must stay about the sane?

Does anyone know where to buy kefir granules to make that particular milk.

Yes it is really easy. I got mine granules from a friend because they increase as you make it. You put a teaspoonful of granules in a jug with 250mls of organic milk, cover it and leave it for 12 hours at room temperature. Then stir it with a plastic spoon and sieve it using a plastic sieve into a glass. Put the remaining granules back in the jug and repeat. If you like it stronger you can leave it for 48 hours but I find it hard enough to drink after 12! As the granules increase in number discard the ones you don't need of give them away.
