Would any know of a cushion that you could put under your foot, which can then be attached to a snow shoe(like they do walking in the Artic). Just so I can get round the house without too much discomfort.
Doctors appointment in few days time

Wouldn't a crutch be better?

If there is no obvious reason for the swelling or pain you may need to go to a walk in centre.

Is the foot red and feels warm, infoman?

If it is then you need to see the GP asap, ie today, as it could be cellulitis and you need antibiotics.

If it's from a sprain or something chronic then crutches might be better.

I would agree that if you haven’t injured your foot in any way a walk in clinic would be for the best - sorry about the ‘walk in’ bit obvs walking is painful right now.
If you have a walking stick use that for now and compensate with your other foot if you can.
Hoping you can resolve this sooner rather than later.

I developed a very tender sore foot after my Dr increased the dosage of BP medication. As soon as the dose reduced my foot pain disappeared.

My SIL had a swollen foot as you describe and it was diagnosed as gout. It is not the joke condition that it used to be, about lifestyle, and can be very painful. Fortunately medication is available to calm it down.
Sorry I can't answer your query, but hope you find relief soon.

Ring 111 if you cannot soon see your GP - or go to a Walk in Centre - but of course walking is your problem right now. I am not quailified to advise but from advice i have had in the past : I wonder if you have elevated your foot when sitting? And have you tried an ice pack (not right next to your skin) ? But do get proper advice soon. Good luck.

if the pain is under the heel when you put your foot down it could be plantar fasciitis, i first got this about 8 years ago and it has came back several times, i use cushioned hell pads inside all my footwear when i get an attack, the pads go on the inside bottom of what you are wearing not on the back of the heel. my physio told me not to wear flat footwear, slippers should have a cushioned sole, for years i wore the ballerina slippers, now it is the granny slippers as my son calls them. hope you get it sorted out as i know how painful it can be.
