But is it the original? I should imagine quite a few copies have been generated over the centuries.

And the French were initially reluctant to loan it to us.

I'd like to see it, though, original or not.

Because, realistically, in a time period of around 900 years it's fair to wonder if some enterprising persons may have had a stab at re-creating it.

After all, there are still a few very rare but surviving copies of Magna Carta.
