Do you have a Guardian Angel?

Something very odd happened to me last week, I won’t go into detail, I probably wouldn’t be believed!
The result of this incident was very rewarding.

It has made me think of huge coincidences and strange things that have happened in my life and I have come to the conclusion I have a Guardian Angel.

I will give you one example, I was selling my Mothers home and needed a key for every window lock (solicitors demand).
I had two keys for the whole house and the locks were all different, I scrabbled about in my garage and had some keys copied but was left with the kitchen window and no key.
It was the final job before exchange and I was very stressed.

I called a double glazing guy who said he could help but wanted an £80 call out so I declined and tried to figure out a plan!

2 hours later I went to pull out of my Mothers drive and a van was blocking my way, it was the double glazing man I had called earlier, he was lost!

He found a key on the van refused any payment although I insisted and I directed him to his customer.

A lucky coincidence or my Guardian Angel?

Lucky coincidence

I do have some angels who come to my rescue but just the earthbound type.

Yes but who sent them to you?

I invented my own. I went to my scary piano lessons with my hand in the air holding hers as she floated above me.

Oh dear, how sad was that.

I feel as though someone who loves me is watching over me, I like to think it’s my Dad.
I’m often saved from a small scrape and sometimes a bigger one.
Recently I was walking to the shop and realised I didn’t have my bank card. I turned on my heel, within seconds I realised I did have it in my phone case after all. As I turned back a car ran out of control and mounted the pavement exactly where I would have been without the moment of hesitation.
Thanks Dad.

HelterSkelter1 Thu 18-Jun-26 14:09:15

Heavens. Where was the car driver's guardian angel? Gone AWOL.

HelterSkelter1 Thu 18-Jun-26 14:10:27

Or maybe it was his/her angel who protected you LauraNorderr

LauraNorderr Thu 18-Jun-26 14:11:40

The car driver was fine HelterSkelter and the car escaped damage so I reckon their angel was also in attendance.

As a recovering alcoholic who was in active alcoholism from the age 15 to 28, I must have a guardian angel
The situations I got myself in particularly with men (As a drunk woman, you are very vulnerable to men, but I got myself in that situation. I knew what would happen when I drank because from the age of 15, I drank to get drunk initially it was for confidence but anyway I’m still here to tell the tale)
I remember some of what happened but not all of it, I do remember when I was living in Birmingham when I was about 23 l think, I got so drunk I was pushed out of a Taxi and I was in the middle of Birmingham and I just got myself the nearest house knocked on the door and a big black man answered the door and I said can you please take me to Spring Hill and bless his heart he did,now he could’ve dragged me in and murdered me and there were a lot of situations like that
Sorry if I’ve been too graphic for some of you, but that’s just the way it was and there were many many occasions similar to that where I could have been raped/murdered or both, in fact, I would be very surprised if I wasn’t raped I used to wake up, not know where I was, but I was usually in bed with a man
Anyway, I went to AA and got myself so sober with their help of course..

Like me, my Dad wasn’t at all fanciful (I guess I get it from him). When I was a teenager he had a serious stomach haemorrhage- he had to have 8 pints of blood transfused. He was very near death. A nurse sat with him all night and kept him calm. When he was better he looked for the nurse to thank her, but was told there was no nurse of that name at the hospital. Dad believed she was an angel who kept him safe all through the night.

Where was that 3year old boy’s angel when he was picked up and thrown down into the crocodile enclosure in Cambridgeshire recently?
Lovely as the idea is the truth is that personal guardian angels don’t exist.

I do wish there was a system where you could add an emoji to posts!

Shinamae like you I am also a recovering alcoholic. I have now been sober 27 years. I have done many of the escapades you mentioned. The worst was falling down the stairs and puncturing my lung also various broken ribs. I do have a guardian angel called my higher power I was directed to the rooms of AA and got my life back.

Guardian Angel Sago, I too have had too many things happen for it to be anything else.

Essexgirl145 Fri 19-Jun-26 14:47:31

Oreo..........someone jumped in and saved him. They're called Earth Angels and they do exist.

It was one of the owners. Brave woman.

It was a lucky coincidence. Like ordinary angels guardian ones aren't real beyond human imagination.

Purplegranny Fri 19-Jun-26 15:22:29

I definitely have a guardian angel. Nearly 30 years ago I was living in Michigan, USA and one morning was driving to work on the motorway and it was snowing. I was feeling anxious and driving steadily, but huge lorries were whizzing past me in the outside lane. Suddenly the back end of my car started to zig zag and slide on the snow and I thought this was going to be the end of me. Then I heard a voice (not my own voice) say "everything is going to be alright". My car went out of control, spun round and I crashed into the central barrier facing the wrong way. Somehow I had slipped in between the lorries and non of them had hit me. I managed to get out but my car was written off. If that voice hadn't reassured me, I might have panicked and the outcome could have been very different.

well I guess you either believe or you don`t,, I believe

Witzend Fri 19-Jun-26 15:30:09

I wondered whether I had one many years ago, when the brakes on my first car (an old Mini) completely failed just seconds after I’d been driving down Reigate Hill, behind a huge lorry.
They waited to fail until I was back on the flat, and could just about manage to make the couple of miles home with judicious use of the handbrake.

Sort of a Guardian angel as I ask my late mum if she can help if any of my family have problems. It always works out good for them.

gransruleok Fri 19-Jun-26 15:35:57

Just had to send Shinamae a huge well done - what a story - and you are living proof that awful addictions can be turned around. You have my admiration.

Schnackie2 Fri 19-Jun-26 15:37:28

I believe that I have one. Once, whilst pet sitting in a new home, the couple showed me upstairs to my ensuite guest room and left me to get unpacked. It was February, dark and snowy outside. I saw double doors apparently leading to a balcony. I pulled them both open to get a breath of fresh air, and to my utter shock and surprise, there was a sheer drop down onto a concrete patio. They were in the process of adding a balcony but it hadn't happened yet. I was shaking as I closed the doors. I mentioned it to the owners, and they just replied that they didn't think I would open the doors. I still get chills when I think of looking at that drop and how close I came to putting my foot out.
There have been two other specific incidents, one of which is completely unexplainable. So for me, it's a yes.

Exactly. But if others wish to believe in them, that's up to them. I don't.
