Good morning from a damp Bristol.
Today is always difficult as it 5 years since my Philip’s died. I think of him every hour of every day and still miss him.
I did go to DD’s for dinner after all. It was a pleasant, chatty evening, but how I wish Iris would decide to eat faster! She chats non-stop then gets cross when asked to finish her dinner. Everyone sits and waits for her for absolutely ages.
I’ve got an all day seminar today, in another one of Bristol’s sprawling conurbation of villages. Unfortunately, I’m likely to get rather wet waiting for the bus. Hey ho.

It was good to get back to walking group yesterday, not having been for four weeks. After all the recent rain, the woods looked much fresher, greener and there was water in the streams, which had dried up conpletely. Nature is very resilient. I had lunch with DD and came home for my hair appointment.

This morning I am at the library for a new writing session the librarian is trying to get off the ground. It should be interesting. She works very hard to put these things together. If it dries up this afternoon I might get the mower out and cut the front lawn.

I spent hours yesterday, updating my gps info for sat nav, onto an sd card and then back onto my car head unit. I read that upgrades are stopping soon and that gave me a shock out of my comfort zone. I need to drive more and further and actually started yesterday by driving into Marks foodhall in Bridgwater. I used to drive all over the place but have become more and more localised. So Monmouth it is next week

I am expecting my small organic order at anytime, they usually arrive around 6. The home produce has helped a great deal this year, not spending so much on veg

Bus for me this morning, there is a need to support them too, I am off to Specsavers to order new glasses after my eye test 3 months ago. Expensive varifocals and I may well ask about any special offers, I have noticed the coating making my lenses messy to see through. Two identical pairs would be good, I have been saving for them. One pair per year would be ideal for clarity

Other than that, I carry on with my knitting, a plain simple jumper knitted top down. Very enjoyable

Well we have arrived in Hereford . The Air b and b is exceptional. It’s a small outbuilding that has been completely redesigned into a compact house. Very contemporary and very clean.
We are cycling on the Great Western Way this morning,a new cycle path from the centre of Hereford to somewhere else. I’m not sure where, we will find out
This afternoon, a walk around the city. I want to go into the Cathedral.

Good morning from Malta where a sunny day is dawning with the high forecast at 35°C.

I had company on my visit to the nail salon yesterday! DGS1 was not feeling well with a fever and his brother was bored and wanted to come with me!

He was so good, sat on my knee fascinated by the procedure but more interested in the machinery. He fell asleep on the way home so I had to take him back to DD3 as I would not have been able to carry him from the car to take him to mine.

Both the boys came at 3pm and stayed until their lovely daddy picked them up after 6pm. DGS1 seemed a lot better and they both cleared me out of food!

Today I have my hair and not much else. Might go to Lidl.

I thoroughly enjoyed madeleine’s wonderfully detailed description of her day yesterday. It conjures up such lovely pictures in my mind.

Dear grandMattie sending you a big hug 🫂 on what must be a poignant and difficult day for you. Grief is such a heavy burden to carry, especially for a beloved child. May Philip rest in peace.🌹

Good morning from a breezy northwest coast. After practising songs yesterday until I felt rather hoarse and decided that was enough, I took myself out on a nice drive on what passes for countryside around here (uninspiring). I had a good lunch in a vegetarian rustic cafe in the middle of the fields. They do a one pot meal and it’s very tasty.

The workmen said they would be back today to fill in a rotting skirting board in the new porch, we’ll see…

I have a nail appointment this morning (love yours Bellasnana ) and not much else planned. I might pop in and see my gym pals after their class for a tea and natter. Meeting friends for dinner tonight at the local Malaysian restaurant.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and dry. It feels cold and I have put on the heating. GrandMattie my thoughts are with you on this hard day. Bellasnana your nails are lovely.
Yesterday was a trial. After a promising start, it all went downhill. I did a quick tidy of the school library then headed to the garden centre and Pavers. I spent a fair bit of time picking shoes. Having poor balance and painful feet, the correct shoes have become very important. No more the platforms of the 70s or the 6 inch heels of the 90s. Anyway, I picked a selection and took them to the desk and here's where the day took a decided slant down. I couldn't remember my pin number! I tried a couple of options but nope. The assistant manager was lovely and kept coming up with ideas, none of which I had. I tried one last number and bang, that was it blocked. I was mortified. Then she mentioned Google wallet which I suddenly remembered I had on my phone. We tried that and bingo! So eventually the shoes were mine. Then, on the way out, I fell all my length in the garden centre main store. Mortified again. Two men kindly helped me up, as once I'm down, I'm down. They asked if I wanted a wheelchair which didnt make my mortificación any better. I limped out, still clutching my 5 pairs of shoes and went home to make lunch- ham and cheese sandwich. And one mouthful was enough. The bread was mouldy. I could have wept. So not altogether a good day.
Today I'm up after a decent sleep. All the stress of yesterday seemed to help! I need petrol, so I'm hoping the Google wallet will do the trick. Then I have a funeral to go to. This afternoon I have a doctor's appointment and in between I must order my repeat prescription. Dinner will be spaghetti with meatballs in tomato and courgette sauce. Fingers crossed that today is better! Have a good day all.

It’s raining here in south Glos, proper steady rain!
I changed the bed and got all the washing dried yesterday despite the drizzly start to the day. My craft room is tidy, I didn’t do any needlework but I have got everything ready to start a bigger piece of crewelwork. I do need to look for some more crewel yarn online, I need some pinks/purples and some more greens/teals.
I’m going to art group this morning, a friend is taking me. I have a big bag of art magazines to donate and some art books.
I don’t know what I will do there, my art mojo evaporated months ago. Maybe I’ll take coloured pencils?
The same friend is taking me out for ‘a jolly’ tomorrow morning, I have no idea where but it’ll be good to get out.
I still get very tired but otherwise I’m fine!

Good morning everyone from a wet Northampton, very grey and overcast. Was planning a major shopping excursion today, but will put it off as tomorrow's weather is nicer. Will probably just visit local shops instead.

Yesterday was beautiful, warm with a gentle breeze and I got two big loads of washing dried in the sunshine.
Thought I had had planned well for a Sainsbury's delivery morning, and a visit from the plumber afternoon - the well laid plans of mice etc..... Plumber arrived 11 am, Sainsbury's delivered 10 minutes later!
Had to leave the plumber figuring out the problem while I sorted out my delivery.
Thankfully not such a big plumbing problem to solve; plumber said he just needs to order a part and made a date to come and fix it, and also quoted a reasonable price.

After lunch decided I would walk to the garden centre as my next daily mile walk. I knew it was a bad idea - came home with a new shirt and handbag, plus a new garden brush which I have been after for ages. But it was nice to get out, have a good browse without rushing and a nice cup of tea, plus I got two miles walk in, as it is a mile each way!

Yesterday was a day of odd jobs, I did one load of washing and got it dried and ironed.
Had some ISAs coming up to maturity so did the paperwork for them and did some filing.
Today I have nothing planned so will do some tidying round in preparation for the whole family visiting tomorrow.

Morning all from a damp and drizzly West Oxfordshire.

Our new tumble dryer arrived yesterday. It seems to be working. My cotton thread arrived too so I made a start on hand quilting my enormous quilt. I finished 5 squares - just 190 to go!

It is the WI coffee morning . We are meeting in a nearby town. I have shopping to do and some things to take to a Charity shop.

Good morning all from a sodden North Leicestershire.

Yesterday was exhausting. A music and movement Memory Cafe with lots of emotions around as that is the last one before the Dementia Service contract in our area is moved to another provider. Our attendees are now left not knowing what provision there will be going forward.

Writers group was great. The readings were lovely and an ice cream van turned up - chimes and all.

Today, Waitrose and the butchers and then a pedicure.

I’m off to the gym this morning and then a volunteering session this afternoon. We might go out after that for a late coffee as one of the local cafes has live music between 4 to 5pm which we enjoy. After that we’ll maybe stay out for something to eat to save cooking later

Good morning and it’s grey and windy. I don’t mind as I like a ‘bit of weather’.

Little pooch has a vets appointment for her 6 monthly check and DIL will take us. Of course while I’m out the Chiropodist will call for DH’s monthly clip. Dh is slow to open the door so I’ll put a little note on the door to say ‘be patient’.

Yesterday I spent a lot of time on the I pad and phone, trying to increase DH’s premium bonds. We’ve already filled in forms online and in paper form, but we’re still no further forward. Don’t they want our money! DS1 is in the case too.

Then I tried to cancel the TV licence for our sold cottage. We need the licence number which I dont know. Why can’t they just look at the address? Why is life so difficult these days. It used to be so simple. 😤.

Dh seemed a little better last evening, so fingers crossed the antibiotics have started their magic.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a rather grey Carlisle where it will probably rain before long.
Yesterday was dry until late afternoon when nonstop rain set in for the rest of the day. Before that happened I'd managed to get into the garden to put in some bedding plants and continue transplanting foxgloves. And before that, some usual household chores and a Tesco delivery. The driver told me they have 12 hour shifts now for the day people. There can be long drives now...as far as Appleby and even Dumfries I believe. What seems to be unpopular is driving up to Alston in the winter...the highest market town in England. It's a lovely drive in good weather but a long, steep, windy road...challenging in snow I should think.

Today I'm off to the dentist yet again. It's getting embarrassing! Yet another dental disaster, this time a 'tooth' has come off my partial bridge. I guess it will be off for repair and I will have to go around looking like a toothless old hag for days. Once upon a time I would have gone into purdah but now I'm getting shameless.

Things can only get better today, surely, grandmabatty? Good luck!

Good morning from a very wet Leicestershire.

My hospital visit went well yesterday. I saw a lovely doctor who assured me that my circulation was very good. She couldn’t believe I was 80 and told me I look more like 60! It made my day.
Now to persuade the GP to refer me to a spinal specialist.
