Mine are stunning - and so are the ones bought for my mother-in-law.
Our local florist is definitely a good one though - and the flowers were ordered early I understand.

How disappointing! I do hope that the remainder of yout bouquet are holding up better.

I'm afraid I let M and S do the work around buying flowers, I haven't been disappointed yet.

How upsetting to think that they were bought with love to mark your special day. Unpleasant to have to complain, but I really think you must. It's unlikely that your bouquet was the only one from that florist which was in such a poor condition.

Isn’t it disappointing lucky? Such a shame for your daughter too. Send photos and complain. Something I decided to do once, I was so cross for the giver. My family member was reimbursed (to the card they has used) and a new bouquet arrived with many apologies. I was concerned the family member would be upset, instead they were pleased I’d not accepted less than they had paid for. Worth a try?

When I lived abroad I had visited a florist local to my mother, and so was able to arrange for her to make any bouquets up and paid her direct. This meant that I was not paying extortiante Interflora prices for unknown level of quality.

When I was young, my mother used to say dont spend a lot of money on flowers for the day, and we used to draw her a lovely card and sometimes bough a plant in a pot early and looked after it before the day, or made an IOU card and bought her flowers on the following week.!!

I would definitely complain, nicely, and send a photo, especially of the mouldy stem. I complained a year or so ago about a small bouquet, it took a bit of back and forth arguing, but eventually they sent a new bunch of flowers.
It's upsetting when someone you love has spent good money. I hope you get a helpful answer.

Here's what I complained about. On unpacking, the leaves were brown and shrivelled.
To be fair the company did rectify this. I would order from them again.

I would definitely complain .
I've stopped using the local florist,because she refused to acknowledge the poor quality of flowers that I sent to someone who was ill .
Yesterday,I met another ex - customer who was not happy with her prices .

I was given a bouquet of flowers on Saturday - nothing to do with Mother’s Day.
I was very appreciative. They looked beautiful!
BUT when I took them out of the wrapping to trim etc, there were several big deep red rose petals loose among the stems. I assumed they had fallen in from another bunch.
However, it was one of the three roses in the bouquet that had lost the petals. And every time I gently moved it, several more fell off!
This morning I removed that rose to throw away as it was wilting so badly - as were the other two roses.
I always prick a couple of holes in rose stems and pop them in boiling water for a few seconds as I was shown many many years ago, to prevent them from wilting. That hadn’t worked this time.

Ditto to M&S for flowers, whoever said it. The other day I spent just £2 on these.

I took the bouquet I received back to the shop. It was M& S . The manager refunded them and told me to select flowers from the range. But it’s not same as receiving a lovely bouquet and putting them in a vase on the spot. A killjoy.

One son sent Interflora flowers and the other son sent Bloom and Wild flowers. Both bouquets were beautiful and I’m very pleased with them.

Another vote here for M&S. I don't indulge their high prices often but flowers, always.

DD gave me a very pretty bunch of flowers she had bought from a friend of hers who is a florist. Unfortunately they lasted two days and all the blooms wilted and dropped. I haven’t said anything to my DD about it yet but may just mention it in passing. It’s tricky when it’s a friend..

A friend was poorly, so a few of us chipped in a fiver each and I ordered some flowers from the local florist. When I was asked about colour etc, I said whatever you’ve got. When I collected them, they looked nice enough, but when unwrapped, they looked a bit 'frugal'. She sent a thank you text with photo to the others, and when I apologised to them later, one said how disappointing the flowers looked.

I love local independent shops, but next time it was supermarket flowers

At least you all got your flowers. My daughter ordered some for me and they didn’t arrive! Local shop, ordered online on 17 March and completely forgotten about. I chased them up by email and they delivered them at 5.30 last night. I told the woman to take them away and refund my daughter. She has refused to do so. A terrible experience.

My son sent me flowers from M&S and my daughter gave me some flowers bought from M&S for Mother's Day. They were fine.
