I’m a pretty dismal cook but I’d probably do a starter of rocket salad with strips of beef, Parmesan shavings and balsamic . Then maybe a fruity lamb tagine (bbc good food). Dessert would be semifreddo all’amaretto.
I’d struggle with enetertainment but possibly some kind of word game ?
You ?
No entertainment, it’s cringe worthy.
As it’s a hot day….
Ice cold Whispering Angel to drink with mini halloumi and melon skewers.
Gazpacho shots with wild garlic on Parmesan shortbreads.
Fillet of salmon with a lemon and asparagus risotto.
Green salad with a simple lemon dressing.
Passion fruit roulade.
British cheeses to include Snowdonia Black Bomber, Ma Singletons Lancashire, Richard 111 Wensleydale.
Fresh figs, dried apricots and Bath Olivers.
Coffee tea and a square of fudge.
All homemade.
Wild garlic pesto!!!! Not just wild garlic?

Show off! But sounds delicious!
Ellianne Not showing off I just love cooking it’s my passion.
I was brought up by a mother that saw no joy in sharing or preparing food, mealtimes were a chore and the dining table was a war zone,
I love that in the U.K now we are embracing cuisine and producing fabulous food and great chefs.
I’m sure CDWM has played a small part in that journey.
Well, I’ve always thought I’d be in a muddle if I was on CDWM because the only thing I do with any reliability is Indian food, mostly from the north. It really doesn’t follow the starter, main, dessert pattern.
For entertainment I’d do an Escape game. ??????♂️
sago Whispering Angel is one of my favourite wines, all round to yours.
My menu:-
Prawns Piri Piri
Herb crumbed rack of lamb, dauphinois potatoes, mixed green vegetables (fresh)
Raspberry pavlova
English cheese board.
Games, got to be charades
I hope you realise it was a joke Sago!
Me too, food is my passion. Your choices are spot on.
Sago, would you be willing to share your recipe for Parmesan shortbreads? I wouldn't dream of suggesting they are shop bought!
Your menu sounds absolutely delicious! If you would like to invite me, I could replace the square of fudge with my renowned (ask Grammaretto ) Scottish tablet!
Ooh, this is going well! Thanks all!
I'm not going to contribute again until the morning - it's been a bit of 'a funny day'.
Hope that you are all well.
I do love GN - for all it's faults!
I couldn’t possibly compete. My days of cooking are pretty much done. After 35y in a house with a good sized kitchen, family to cook for, Easter & Christmas dinners for 10 etc I decided on moving into our small town centre apartment there was no point in trying to replicate that lifestyle.
So for the past 11y I seem just to assemble plain food. Himself goes downstairs in the lift to our larder (Sainsbury’s) and we buy good quality butter, cheeses, eggs, veggies that I don’t mess about with much. Years ago I actually did make a tray of large stuffed mushrooms (!) but I agree, life is too short to do that. I’ve done a lot of it over the years and I don’t miss it. I’d be so out of practice in a competition!
We have more bars, cheese courts, restaurants and pizza parlours here than you could shake a stick at, so living here encourages us to support them. (My excuse anyway).
When we first moved in I was enjoying a flat white after work one late afternoon and my mum rang my mobile. I’ll always remember this exchange:
Mum - ‘where are you?’
Me - ‘in Costa mum’
Mum - ‘what are you doing in there? You have a perfectly good kettle at home, right above you!’
Me - ‘it’s called town centre living, mum!’
I saw an ad about this concept the other day. It said ‘Less Cooking & More Living’. It made me smile. It sums up my take on things nowadays.
?
I’d love to sit at your table Sago. I’d happily wash up afterwards! Your menu sounds delicious.

Urmstongran We are in the process of buying a city apartment as a holiday let and a bolt hole for ourselves.
I am looking at buying a Thermomix, I’ve had a demonstration and they really are superb the price is eye watering though?
They look easy and delicious Sago
Sago, thank you! I will definitely have a go at making them!
Can I come to yours for dinner please Sago?
Blossoming do you need a partner for Sago’s dinner party ?
Hint hint.
Your all welcome to attend, I would enjoy cooking for you and of course meeting you all but....... come on everyone Rossettis’s muse wants some dinner party menus!
I will give you my favourite Autumn dinner party menu.
No starter, just canapés by the fire.
Jerusalem artichoke soup sprinkled with trufffle oil toasted breadcrumbs ( served as a canapé in espresso cups)
Croustades filled with warm vegetarian haggis and topped with scrambled egg.
Mini Yorkshire pudding with a slither of rare beef and creamed horseradish.
Supreme of guinea fowl with a cracked pepper sauce.
Creamed mash potatoes on a bed of wilted spinach and toasted pine nuts.
Steamed green beans.
A trio of puddings, lemon mousse in a shot glass, a warm chocolate brownie and a glass of vin Santo with cantuccini biscuits to dip.
Cheese board as before.
I buy the cantuccini from Waitrose and I always have a stock of croustades from IKEA of all places!
Sago Can I bring something from France?
mokryna
Sago Can I bring something from France?
Oooo sorry to butt in.
Can we give you a list please and which shop do you use? Can you visit a few vineyards for us too?
Mokryna Yes please, most guinea fowl is reared there,it’s got a delicious light game flavour and tastes like chicken should!
A case each of Quincy and Sancerre, Loire wines are great with all white meat..
If I were to have a French cheese board I would ask for; Epoisses, Vignotte, Delice de Bourgogne and a Pyrenean hard cheese with a black rind ( I never remember the name)
Could I also have a selection of fresh wild mushrooms, Caen market has a seasonal stall dedicated to mushrooms..
You will all be staying over so breakfast will be sautéed wild mushrooms on sourdough toast with a poached egg..
Could I also have 3 bottles of Carolles wooden floor cleaner, I’m running out and a trip across the channel is looking unlikely?.
I’ll pay you back?
sago I have had a thermomix for many years it’s worth it’s weight in gold ??
it not 8f
