I know the coronavirus has affected everybody but it has affected me in a different way. It has confirmed the fact that I actually have no close friends. In the last three weeks not one person has called, emailed or messaged me to ask whether I am OK.
I have called or messaged a few acquaintances but the conversations have been short.
My three children and DGC have called only weekly as usual, apart from the eldest who has called two or three times a week but only when he's driving home in his car from his key worker job. We have an agreement that they all call me when they have time, rather than me call them when they are busy.
I do have a DH living with me, but we no longer have any sort of close relationship. He spends most of his time doing unnecessary things in the garden or garage.
We moved here 10 years ago so that we could visit DGCs more easily, but still hardly ever see them.
My so-called friends at my previous home have always declined to visit us, not invited us back and now just send Christmas and birthday cards, which I feel has been become just a chore.
I have never been able to make friends with couples as my partner is not sociable.
Under normal circumstances I go out and do things with various groups and have been on committees and always volunteered to help but now I realise that none of these people considered me to be a "friend" and I lie awake at night wondering what I do wrong. Fellow group members meet for coffee etc but I am never invited and don't want to impose myself where I am not wanted.
I sometimes feel that I should ask someone I can trust why I am not popular but that is a very scary thing to do and I am not sure I can change at this stage of my life (71), but maybe I would get an insight into why no one wants to be close to me.

Programme on ADHD this evening

Do people know your Dh is an unsociable type? If so, that might be offputting for them.
