Morning Mick, morning All. It’s dark and dry is about all I can tell anyone. Awake at silly o’clock, doubtlessly because there’s a busy morning ahead with our Littlest. Mr C and I are then off to a shoe shop or three followed by a visit to the big blue and yellows store where I am determined to stick to the list. Should sleep tonight grin. You’re tempting me to book some theatre trips Mick. All good intentions here then I find I’ve left it too late for decent seats. Hope Thursday is kind to everyone.

Good morning Mick and all to follow.

It's cold but dry in North Leicestershire. I'm off to Sainsbury's and the butcher's this morning and DD1 is stopping by for lunch. This afternoon I am taking my dreadful nails for a manicure in the hope that they can be improved.

Enjoy your days everyone.

kittylester Thu 03-Oct-19 06:37:29

Morning corner, as you said somewhere else - isnt retirement meant to be restful?

Beechnut Thu 03-Oct-19 06:59:14

Good Morning everyone.

Dry and getting light with a red sky.

I’m off to my craft class today which I enjoy.

I ought to come to the manicure with you kitty, my nails are not looking their best at the moment.

I hope you all have a lovely day whatever you do ?

NfkDumpling Thu 03-Oct-19 07:04:43

Morning All

Dry, clear and bright in the north of Norfolk. I’ve got an eye test first thing and then we’re off to Minsmere for a bit of birding and hopefully the red deer may be starting to rut. We’re taking the campervan and may stay over. Possibly - if we can figure out how to make the heating work!

Pantglas2 Thu 03-Oct-19 07:06:30

Morning all from a dry and lightening north Wales- methinks we’re having rain later.

Off to see Downton with my daughter this afternoon then to her new home where SIL is cooking a Greek meal for us in anticipation of my ’oliday to Greece next week!

In the meantime some sewing, baking and paperwork - as you say, where’s this rest we’re meant to have?

A good day for everyone has been ordered, let’s hope someone’s listening......

dragonfly46 Thu 03-Oct-19 07:18:20

Good morning, yellow sky here in Leicestershire.
Hospital appointment this morning.

BlueSapphire Thu 03-Oct-19 07:21:39

Good morning all. Just getting light here in Northampton, and feeling cold. The cars have got frost on them, and the heating is on! Supposed to be dry though.

Off on a history course today, about Eleanor of Castile, the wife of Edward 1. When she died her funeral cortege travelled from Lincoln (I think) to London, and overnight stops were marked by the building of a monument, as a mark of the king's love for her. Northampton has one of the very few Eleanor Crosses remaining, which is being restored at the moment. Hoping it will be an interesting day. Must get a move on as I have two bus journeys to negotiate to get to the venue.

Must get something out of the freezer for tea tonight, as won't feel like cooking after a long day out. Shepherd's pie I think. Hope everyone's day goes well.

NanKate Thu 03-Oct-19 07:23:59

Morning Mick Kitty and All.

Lovely orange sunrise in South Bucks but a bit parkie, no doubt Mary would think it was warm and balmy ?. Hope you feel better today Mary.

Off for our flu jabs and to take my glasses in to have one of the lenses put back in, they say it will take a week, how ridiculous that means I have to wear my old glasses of 2 years ago till then.

Grammaretto Thu 03-Oct-19 07:24:43

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It's bright again.
I should have made a list of the jobs for today but one is to start mowing the grass field with the repaired mower.
DH has a voluntary job which seems to be 24/7 so he can't help. ?
Have a nice day and plenty of rest especially those of you who are poorly. Gilly, Marydoll, Auntyflo and you know who you are.

Alygran Thu 03-Oct-19 07:48:11

Good morning. Blue sky and sunshine in North Yorkshire today.
Lots of jobs to do today ahead of setting off on my travels tomorrow.
Hope the poorly people feel better and everyone has a good day.

EllanVannin Thu 03-Oct-19 07:52:13

Good Morning All x
Dry with a coloured sky-----looks a stormy one to me with its reds/orange/yellows. We'll see what transpires.

A bit more tidying up but I'm so glad that this time last week isn't repeated again. This is the trouble when you have a lot of " stuff " it's the shifting of it around from one place to another then ending up with no home for some of it all.

Expecting D and step-D to call in at some point today so I'll make a quick sponge cake.
Maybe having the flu jab this morning when I get my INR done, depending if there are enough stocks of it.

The old stray Tom cat has got it's face at the patio door waiting for his breakfast so I'll go and feed him now and get myself cracking with breakfast and a wash or shower.

Have a good day everyone, hope your day has improved Gillybob, healthwise. To everyone, stay well.

Brunette10 Thu 03-Oct-19 07:54:59

Morning to everyone from a lovely but frosty Fife. Yes we have frost on the car roofs this morning but it looks delightful. Busy day yesterday with DGS so a day of rest I think for us today. Have some shopping to do and that's it. Should really get out as I believe our weather is to turn. Hope everyone has a good day, thinking of all those feeling under the weather.

Resurgam123 Thu 03-Oct-19 07:59:23

Good morning all. Clear skies in Cheshire at present.
Who knows what we will get later.
A storm was heading our way across to Ireland.
I have play reading this afternoon.
I am still waiting for my glasses to be fitted after my cataract op has settled.
Working with one eye out of proper alignment is tiring.

Tuesday 8th Oct is my appointment. I hope it works.

Lins1066 Thu 03-Oct-19 08:07:17

Good Morning from the S Welsh coast where it is dry so far.

Cleaner coming later so need to get showered and sorted.
DH is going to the local NT property this morning where he is a volunteer, he works on the archives. He and his other volunteer friends will have coffee on the terrace there.

We have put the heat on for the first time this morning.
Hope everyone will have a good day.

gillybob Thu 03-Oct-19 08:10:21

Good morning from the NE coast where we have the start of another fine and bright day with temperatures reaching around 12 degrees. Typically we have heavy rain forecast for the weekend.

After a night of more coughing and wheezing I am getting ready to go to “that place” for another day of fun and laughter. On my way home this evening I will look in on on my dad (it’s funny but I was sure he had 2 daughters....never mind) and see if he needs anything done, then home and another early night on the cards. Lazy meals all this week as I just can’t be bothered.

I’ve got little Evie tomorrow night and all day Saturday so really need to try and get myself pulled around a bit, don’t want her to catch this but my DD has already lost a shift this week that she just can’t afford to lose and there’s no one else to look after her.

I hope you enjoy your Greek meal in anticipation of your forthcoming holiday to Greece Panglas how lovely smile

Hope auntieflo had a comfortable first night home and to everyone else poorly or just feeling under the weather I hope you feel better soon.

Have a good Thursday everyone x

Good morning Mick and all from a positively chilly Glasgow! At least it's warmer than yesterday!
It is a glorious morning here, but it's a day in for me. I'm so looking forward to it!
I still have this dreadful respiritory lurgy.

I had promised to go out with my recently bereaved sister in law yesterday, but didn't want to tell her I was unwell, so I went.
She is good company and I feel we can talk about anything.

Well, what a day! It involved a motorway journey, but she missed a turning and we ended up half way to Stirling. She is not the most confident of drivers, has a new car and hadn't a clue where we were.? ?
I had visions of news reports of two elderly , (but spohisticated and youthful ) ladies lost on a motorway! ?
Fortunately, I knew that that stretch of motorway from visiting my aunt over thirty years ago, it had changed a bit, but after a magical mystery tour of some of the smaller towns outside Glasgow, I managed to get us back on the other side of the motorway, back towards Glasgow.
It actually did wonders for her confidence.smile, she said she couldn't have done it when BIL was alive.
She always says that she is supposed to be looking after me and I always end up taking charge. ( Once a teacher, always a teacher!) grin

I will take it easy today, before getting DGD from nursery.
I have yet another appointment for an angiogram next week, the previous two have been cancelled , as I was too unwell, so I have to get well for that. A diagnosis will mean treatment (I hope) and I can move on and get on with things.

Glad to see AuntiFlo is home and I hope Gilly is improving.
Good luck, Dragonfly.

Have a good day, everyone.

ninathenana Thu 03-Oct-19 08:21:46

Morning everybody.

Dry and grey in Kent although my phone says it's 6c and sunny.
DH will be watching rugby later and as we have road works on our route to anywhere other than the supermarket (for next 10 mths !!) we won't be going anywhere.

Have a good day everyone.

vena11 Thu 03-Oct-19 08:21:52

Good Morning Bristol it dry at the moment don't think its to last, it was a beautiful day yesterday and I got loads of washing out dried and ironed cant stand ironing in the basket takes longer to iron if its left I think. I will do the sheets today and housework then the feet are going up and a good book.
I hope everyone who is poorly have a better day today.
Take care all.

Urmstongran Thu 03-Oct-19 08:23:20

Good morning everyone from South Manchester where it’s dry and mild. The sky is a pale blue wash with an apricot glow over the Pennines where the sun comes up. Unusually for the time of year, I can even make out the green fields yonder. Might have a peep through the ‘noculars’ as our family baby calls them.

No plans. Was going to the cinema to see ‘Judy’ tonight but the friend said Friday night suited her better.

Hope Auntieflo is on the mend after another night in hospital.

Your history course sounds really interesting BlueSapphire you will be tired after a full day out involving 4 buses.

Bet it’s nice to be getting back into your usual routine Mick

A blast of sunshine for you then next week Pantsglas how lovely. I’ve never been to Greece but I hear how pretty and unspoiled a lot of it is, with butterflies, goats and cats in abundance.

Hope Thursday is good to us all whether we have plans or (like me) none. x

Mapleleaf Thu 03-Oct-19 08:27:45

Morning all,
It's a lovely morning but starting to cloud over. We are supposed to get rain later.
Went to see Downton Abbey yesterday with SiL's and niece. Enjoyed the costumes and lavish settings, but felt the story itself was somewhat far fetched. However, it was an enjoyable piece of escapism for a few hours.
Seeing a friend today for a catch up but first I've got a few jobs to do in the house.
gilly I hope you soon start to feel better - that cough seems to be hanging around and you have such a lot on your plate so be careful. At least it's Thursday (or Friday eve), so not much longer at "that place"!
Take care, everyone.

Harris27 Thu 03-Oct-19 08:28:20

Good morning all. It’s nit raining so will get the washing on the line. Was in bed early last night put doc Martin on but fell asleep needed it. Rang to enquire where my appointment had gone for kidney stone op told I was in the urgent list, so will still have to wait. Never mind have a good day all hope your restless nights halt for you gillybob.

harrigran Thu 03-Oct-19 08:33:38

Good morning from a sunny NE.
DH and I have dental check ups this morning then the rest of the day is free.
Yesterday I went shopping with a list and came back without the two most important items, very annoying as I will have to make another trip.

moggie Thu 03-Oct-19 08:41:21

Good morning Mick & all. Chilly, dry start in Nottingham. Feeling tired after hectic 2 days at work, will potter today & check on DS’s puppy at lunchtime. Hope all not well feel better soon, have a good day everyone.
