Good morning, Mick and all who follow from a blue sky Rome. A small shower forecast early on. There are three different weather forecasts for today, so we have spent ages debating whether to carry rain jacket or not.
The country is in a mess and we are worried about insignificant things.

We had a lovely day at Ostia Antica yesterday. It was warm, but not too hot. A lot of walking was involved, so I just plonked myself down and people watched, ( one of my favourite pastimes) and left DH to wander unrestricted by a wee lady walking at a snail"s pace.
We last visited years ago, but the heat was unbearable, so we gave up. DH was delighted to discover areas he had previously never seen.
Just to prove shopping is not my only interest, ? I have posted a picture to show I was there and not in some chic, but expensive shopping mall, buying nothing.?
You may be interested ( or not) to know that I studied archaeology at university ( as my compulsory science subject) and the Roman era is my absolute favourite, hence my love of all things Roman.
I spent ages watching archaeologists surveying with hi tech tools. All we ever had was a brush, trowel and a bucket. I find technology fascinating.
As we came out of the archaeological site, we spotted a trattoria, it was furnished with ancient Roman artefacts. I had seen nothing like it ever before. It looked as if someone had gone round collecting statues etc and furnished the restaurant with them. This oasis of calm delivered a delicious lunch, the perfect end to a perfect morning.
We then hopped back on the train to Ostia Lido. The beaches were full of bronzed beautiful people, unfortunately I didn't quite fit in, with my red hair and pale skin!
We had a gentle stroll and again people watched, seated with a delicious gelato. A perfect end to a perfect day.@
The only blot on the horizon was a missed call on my phone from the hear hospital. Obviously I began to worry, as I wasn't expecting it.
I then got a recorded message asking me to confirm I was attending for my op next Friday!!!??
I hadn't a clue what it meant. There was no number to phone back . I can only assume it is for another angiogram to eventually give me a diagnosis.â
Today we are off to the Catacombs of St Priscilla, it's the only one we have never visited in the last twenty years. It will be an adventure. Thank goodness for Google maps! ?
The only problem is that I have no spacial awareness and map reading is very problematic for me. Who knows where we will end up.
