Hello all, usual good wishes.
Well, after a very long time without a desk top pc, (just having the tablet) I'm now back in the world of having a keyboard!
Feel like a beginner! Looking for various keys, although that is not helped by the fact that I use a Mac at work, and Windows/Microsoft at home.
(You might be surprised at how different the keyboards are, especially with the placing of certain keys 
)
I do quite like the tablet, but the predictive text could be really annoying. Surprised I wasn't arrested, after asking for advice regarding "rissoles", which somehow became "missiles" 
although I suppose that North Devon isn't high on the list of suspected Islamic State sympathisers!
I will be glad to get back into my -old- morning routine, get up, feed cats, make tea (in that order, as it saves being tripped up) then take tea upstairs to the "office" (third bedroom, no bed in it) to check emails and look at GN.
Recently I have been drinking my tea at the kitchen table and doing the email & GN thing on my tablet, not quite the same somehow!
The "office has been decorated and looks lovely, I'm looking forward to getting back to my old habits.

phoenix I have an Amazon Fire which I tend to use on the go but much prefer the comfort of my armchair and laptop. It so much easier to write and correct mistakes on it. OH uses a desktop, upstairs in the 'study' which is the bedroom only big enough for a cot! It's a right mess in there with papers everywhere and all sorts of stuff on the worktops he attached to the walls. I close the door on it. It's nice that we have our own spaces for computing stuff.

I use both an iMac and a normal Window pc and you're right that some of the keys are different. I've had this Mac for 9 years now and still get lost in the system at times - pretty sure my other half would get far too frustrated with it! I have an iPad as well as an Amazon fire and use them for different things but rarely anything I need to type much on as I make too many errors Enjoy your new desktop!
