Good morning Micheal, Anniebach and everyone from a damp but mild Birmingham. I have an early hospital appointment today so I am up early again after my busy day yesterday in London. I came back to a beautiful clean and tidy house yesterday- my cleaner had worked so hard. I haven’t any more plans today apart from some food shopping and an evening at my partner’s. I hope everyone has a good day. tchsmile

Good Morning Mick Dora and all to follow.

It is damp and mild here too in The Black Country.

I am going out with a friend to Bewdley for lunch today, then pick up 2 DGD's from school.

Relaxing evening in with Partner, it has been a busy and hectic week.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone.

The patio is damp but that's all I can say about the weather.
Up early to take DD to work as her * car won't start. Will go farm shop and Asda on way back.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all. Still dark in Northampton, and looking damp.

Glad your bridge is open again Mick, it will make it much easier. They have also just re-opened one on a road that DD uses near Wellingborough, which she is pleased about.

Lovely afternoon at the panto yesterday, and DGD danced
brilliantly.

Came back to bad news though as a friend texted me to tell me that chemo has had no impact on her DH's cancer, so their options are now very limited. Having been through this at the beginning of the year with my own DH, I hope I can be some support to them. I shall be seeing her at lunch today as we are having a meal out for ex teaching colleagues.

Cats off to the cattery this morning for their Christmas holidays as I shall be staying at DD's. It's their first visit, so hoping they will be fine. I know they will be well looked after as our previous cats always went there.

And round to a neighbour's this evening for pre-Christmas drinks and nibbles.

Hope everyone's day goes well.

Good morning all on this dark mid-winter day in the Scottish Borders
I'll decorate the tree and wrap presents.

kittylester Fri 21-Dec-18 07:06:38

Good morning all.

It's still dark in my bit of North Leicestershire and we have had a soggy moggy on the bed so I assume it is, or has been, raining.

I didn't do the ironing yesterday - I will do it today....I will!

Willow10 Fri 21-Dec-18 07:11:45

Good morning all. The rain hammered on the window during the night but it has stopped now. Everything looks very soggy.

Blue, I feel for you. I had the same news from a friend in Torquay this week - second round of chemo is not working. It's heart breaking to hear that nothing more can be done.

I was pleased to note two bridges closed in the area had finally been opened. There must have been a lot of poorly maintained bridges around, considering how many are suddenly being repaired!

Last ten pin bowling before Christmas this morning, so I expect there will be a lot of food contributions. Pity I can't eat any of it! Hope its a good day for everyone.

Morning Mick and All

Glad all back to normal with your bridge Mick.

Hopefully it will be dry for us to go to a WI friend’s funeral this morning. She was such a lovely lady We will miss her greatly.

aggie Fri 21-Dec-18 07:13:01

Morning All

Morning All

It’s soggy, dark, miserable and mizzly outside in Norfolk. Nothing planned again for today, but it’s surprising how a day with nothing on can fill up. I may wander into town and shop a bit. Love retirement!

Gagagran Fri 21-Dec-18 07:42:33

Good Morning everyone from a windy and damp south coast. It's the shortest day today so back towards the light from tomorrow.

I was wakened just after 6am by the sound of machinery outside and lo and behold, the white line team were already on site ready to put the finishing touches to the new road layout. No way could they see where to put their white lines at that time so I am unsure why they came so flipping early! Anyway, like others on here report, it seems there is a concerted effort to get roadworks done before Christmas and I say three cheers to that after months of disruption outside our house.

Apart from a visit to the library tomorrow, I have done with shopping, hopefully until 2019 but time will tell.

Hope all those with health or other problems find some ease today and that we all have the best day possible. sunshine

Marydoll Fri 21-Dec-18 07:49:17

Good morning all from a dark, damp Glasgow. It's 6 degrees, but that's better than 0 degrees! tchgrin.

It's good news that bridges are now open. Our wee town is gridlocked just now, due to numerous road works and temporary traffic lights, it's horrendous. angry

A busy day ahead. DH planned to go out to lunch, but we have had to cancel.
DS1 phoned asking us to take DGD overnight, as they have had little sleep all week, due to DGD's persistant coughing and it making her sick.

Then I found out DIL's car was going into the garage and she planned to walk around with coughing DGD for fours hours to kill time until it was ready. sad The garage is two towns away, so no point in coming home.

We didn't let on abour our romantic lunch grin and I will go and stay with DGD, DH will go and pick up DIL and we will do it in the reverse late afternoon. DS is away on business, so he can't help.
I was so organised for Christmas and it's all falling apart. grin
Oh and DD has left three pairs of denims to be altered!!

I too haven't iced the Christmas cake.

Kitty, I will seen DH to do your ironing, it will get him from under my feet, he is a dab hand at it. grin.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning Michael and all GNs. It is persisting down in South Yorkshire this morning! I have some food shopping to do and DH has a medical appointment later, but other than that we will not be venturing far. We bottled this year’s sloe gin last night. It is delicious - no wonder I slept like a top! Have a happy day folks.

Pittcity Fri 21-Dec-18 08:00:51

Good morning from a damp, breezy but very mild Colchester. Just opened the front door and it's warmer out than in. Phone app says 12 degrees already.
3 year old here again for the day. He wore us out yesterday.

Brunette10 Fri 21-Dec-18 08:08:53

Good Morning to all and to those who follow. It's dark and damp here in Fife once again however it's acceptable. No wind - I hate the wind. Everyone seems really busy and I'm wondering what to do today. I have no plans so I shall do some household chores and probably go for a walk later on. It worries me that I don't seem to have anything outstanding to do - I had better check my brain again me thinks. I hope you all have a good day and enjoy tchsmile

Marydoll Fri 21-Dec-18 08:12:45

Brunette, don't worry, you are just super organised. Enjoy the peace, while it lasts.
I could send you DD's denims to sew, if you are looking for something to do! grin

Alygran Fri 21-Dec-18 08:33:43

Good morning from soggy North Yorkshire.
Out for a coffee with a friend this morning then perhaps a walk and curl up with my book. And the Christmas cake to ice.
Hope the day is kind to everyone.

cornergran Fri 21-Dec-18 08:41:20

Morning Mick, morning All from a grey and damp corner of Somerset. Feels mild but could do without the damp. The cake will be iced today, plan to invite a neighbour for a cuppa and that’s about it other than Mr C on ironing detail. I would offer to do the jeans marydoll, but your daughter wouldn’t like the outcome grin. Hope Friday is kind to everyone.

Gaggi3 Fri 21-Dec-18 08:42:29

Good morning everyone, from a dull and damp south-east. London today to see Hansel and Gretel with DH, DD, and DGS. I haven't iced the cake either or done lots of other things. Shall think about those tomorrow. Have a happy, or at least stress-free, day.

dragonfly46 Fri 21-Dec-18 08:45:35

Morning. Overslept this morning but nothing on as had a busy day yesterday.

First biopsy then NWR Christmas dinner.
Now need to see if Mum is coming out of hospital today and get my head in gear for Christmas.

Marydoll you are a treasure for your children mine live too far away to help in a practical way.

Pleased to hear the roads are getting cleared.

Auntieflo Fri 21-Dec-18 08:45:52

Morning Mick, Annie to come and all GN's.
It's damp here but not raining, yet.
Well goodness, gracious me, I got my cake iced yesterday. I made my own fondant icing, so hope it's alright. I don't like the bought stuff, too sweet, and I had lost an old recipe, so I cobbled one together. Here's hoping it's edible.
Not much planned today, but hoping to see a friend who is just back from a long holiday.
Enjoy your day folks.

Anniebach Fri 21-Dec-18 09:01:42

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Very tired, had therapy yesterday, little sleep last night

Hope everyone has a good day x

EllanVannin Fri 21-Dec-18 09:01:43

Good morning All x
A bit late this morning as one cat decided it wanted to go out at silly-o'clock. I didn't even look at the time but seemed to be early hours, then the wait for it to come back in which it did eventually like a drowned rat-----on my bed so good job I have a cover on top.

Rainy but on the mild side. Was going to go out but just received an email from D in Oz to expect a parcel today, she was on her way to buy drinks for a BBQ party. Alright for some !

Hope all is well with everyone. Take care.
