Morning Mick and others to come.
I'm up early because I booked a taxi to take our visitor to the airport at 5 am but it didn't come so poor DH has had to do the honours and the house is wide awake.
Funeral later today. It's warmer than lately here in the Scottish Borders.

Good morning all and I hope it’s a good day for everyone.
Dark, wet but not raining and cloudy here. Nothing much on this morning so I’ll do some pottering around the house then I’m going to u3a Christmas party this afternoon. My first one, I was a new girl last year and too shy to go ?.

Good morning.

It's still dark in North Leicestershire but I think it is dry.

We have lots of bitting and bobbing to do today and some tv catching up! Oh, and a mountain of ironing. sad

Good morning all, dark and damp in Lancashire, I'm meeting a friend later.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Morning All

Dark and cold here in Norfolk, but the stars are shining which is nice. Had a lovely day yesterday with DGS looking at the seals and their pups on the beach. DGDog came too and was most perplexed - dogs with no legs smelling of fish?!

Nothing planned for today although I do have to find an excuse to go shopping. I’ve just thought of something to buy DH for Christmas!

Willow10 Thu 20-Dec-18 07:17:42

Good morning all. Still dark but I think it's dry in East Northants. Today I'm tracking down my favourite Whitakkers coffee cream dark chocolates and it appears they may be available in Iceland (the shop, not the country) so fingers crossed. I hope it's a good day for everyone!

Good Morning from a drizzly Black Country.

Appointment this morning for my yearly Asthma check. Then pop to town for bits and pieces.

This afternoon, I am driving over to my DS and family to take their presents and we won't be seeing them over Christmas. He will be 43 on the 29th, so taking his Birthday present as well.

Enjoy your U3A party Beechnut I been a member for 20 months and just starting to feel like I 'fit in' now.

Have a good day everyone.

Brunette10 Thu 20-Dec-18 07:27:18

Good Morning all and to those who follow. Dark and damp here at the moment in Fife. Have quite busy ay, blood pressure check first thing then some shopping and off to see Santa at a certain garden outlet with 2 x DGS's. so looking forward to it. Everyone seems to be very busy today the rush I fear has started! enjoy your day.

BlueSapphire Thu 20-Dec-18 07:37:51

Morning all. Still dark in Northampton, but dry.

Yes, I also am Blue45Sapphire, but hopefully from now on will be my original BlueSapphire! Mix-up occurred because apparently I had logged in on my Kindle fire with a different email address and had to have a different password. Will delete that account.

New Kindle fire arriving today but will not have time to set it up till the weekend.

Excellent new film from Robert Redford yesterday, 'The Old Man and the Gun'. I heartily recommend it, very gentle and a lovely story. I sat and enjoyed it with a glass of Malbec and some salted vanilla caramel popcorn. Felt a bit sad though as it was the sort of film that late DH would have loved, as I could just see him sitting next to me with a smile on his face.

Off to panto this afternoon to see elder DGD, who is dancing this year.

Willow, one of my yoga friends bought me a box of Whittakers coffee creams this week! She had heard me say that they were my favourites. I think she got them from a pound shop.

Hope it's a good day for all.

Morning all , dark out there , I am back in bed with a cuppa , it is a can't be bothered morning

EllanVannin Thu 20-Dec-18 07:44:15

Good morning All x
Sounds very quiet and still outside but I've no idea what it's doing weatherwise as I haven't yet put my nose out.

Just running the hoover over the place today with the possibility of going to see daughter's new Victorian fireplace which she's having done today. She certainly puts in the hours at work to make these things possible and I'm so pleased for her.

Some wrapping must be done too !

Marydoll Thu 20-Dec-18 07:53:53

Good morning all, I've been very busy.

I couldn't sleep, so I got up at 6.30am, oh the bliss of a quiet house and a cuppa!

I cleaned out the freezer, whilst DH was still asleep.
I'm think of starting a thread on What's the oldest thing you have found in your freezer? tchblush ?

Out for a bit of supermarket shopping , a baking day ahead and then nursery pick up.

Still no sign of Gillybob, worrying as she is a prolific poster. ?

Best wishes and prayers to Panache and Mr P. flowers

Have a good day everyone.

NanKate Thu 20-Dec-18 07:55:21

Morning Mick Kitty and All.

Calm and cloudy in South Bucks.

Tracking down some game pie or similar today, I think we got some at Sainsbury’s last year topped with juicy cranberries.

BlueSapphire That sounds like my kind of film I will see if I have got it on one of my apps. Sorry it made you a little sad watching without your DH.

Willow10 Thu 20-Dec-18 07:55:29

Blue - thank you for the tip. I've been getting them from B&M recently, but they seem to have sold out. I found some mocha flavour in the Pound shop, but they were a bit sweet. Coffee flavoured chocolates are so hard to track down, I've started buying five or six boxes at a time! I hate the thought of running out. As I only eat one or two a day at most, I have to make sure they have a good sell by date on them too!

DoraMarr Thu 20-Dec-18 07:57:04

Good morning from a train speeding towards London. I've been up since.30 - off to look after my granddaughter for the day. I may have to have a nap this morning while she had hers!

NanKate Thu 20-Dec-18 07:57:27

Morning Mary I bet we could beat you in the oldest thing in the freezer. Perhaps this would be a good topic on GN ?

Marydoll Thu 20-Dec-18 08:00:57

Kate, I wish I had known that there was a huge box of M&S party food, untouched from last year, I would have had no problems scoffing it! grin
I don't even remember buying it! tchconfused

ninathenana Thu 20-Dec-18 08:01:45

Morning everyone.
Grey and damp after over nighrt rain in Kent.
Housework this morning then the firemen are back this afternoon. They came yesterday to check the alarms but got a "shout" 2 mins after they walked in the door.
Have a good day all.

Auntieflo Thu 20-Dec-18 08:07:45

Morning Mick, Annie to come and all. it's raining quite hard here , but getting brighter. Yesterday I did an extra volunteer stint at our charity shop, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Today we have to go and collect a parcel from the PO, so hope the queues are not too long.
I wish inspiration would strike re a present for DH. NFK please send vibes that I can use.
Please let us know if anyone hears how Gillybob is. She has been on my mind as well.
To everyone struggling or poorly, I send best wishes.
DH has just brought my first cuppa of the day, so will be up soon.
Have a good day one and all.

Marydoll Thu 20-Dec-18 08:13:50

I pmed her, but no response, which is unusual.

Gagagran Thu 20-Dec-18 08:15:34

Good Morning everyone from a damp, mild south coast.

Just back from a much busier than usual supermarket trip. That's the last one before Christmas. The aisles were clogged up with online-shopper trollies pushed by students who seem to enjoy stopping for a chat with their mates! Why can't the online orders by filled in the back storeroom away from personal shoppers? Grrr! (Feeling grinchy - can you tell?)

The road works outside our house look as if they may be finished today/tomorrow. They have been ongoing from early September and have caused a lot of inconvenience.

Anyway, I shall calm down, have some breakfast and enjoy the rest of the day!

Hope you all do too. tchgrin

oldgaijin Thu 20-Dec-18 08:20:21

Good morning all from a don't know what it's doing outside Aberdeenshire...haven't looked out yet. At least it's not windy and the new roof ridge is securely cemented on.
Flying South today so shall temporarily become a Buckinghamshire gransnetter. Suitcase is packed and doesn't weigh too much...it does have the Christmas cake in it!
Gillybob, where are you? Have a peaceful day everyone.

dragonfly46 Thu 20-Dec-18 08:25:23

Let’s hope it is just that Gilly’s internet is down

harrigran Thu 20-Dec-18 08:25:56

Good morning, I think it is dry and not too cold.
Off to diabetes prevention session this morning and then an echocardiogram this afternoon.
It is DH's birthday but no rest for him either.
Yesterday was a lost day, too poorly to do anything, think I have established that I can no longer eat Indian food.
