Maybe she's afraid it will drop out and when she starts having it she'll wish it would.

I don't remember cradling my bump. It was difficult to find under the voluminous tents we wore in the sixties.

How very strange that a subconscious action should trigger such a reaction in you.

It is the ‘in thing’ to do now, quite a few celebrities release photographs of them holding their baby bump..

I didn’t , but loved sitting with hands on tummy when my babies were moving.

Then quickly having to grab it because the baby started kicking?

Oh my word for heavens sake leave the young lass alone I remember holding my bump at times and stroking it and why not ? If she wasn’t someone would come on here and say ‘she never touches her bump she’s obviously not bonding with her unborn baby’ that poor lass can’t breathe without being critisised

Perhaps she's suffering from what I did during my first pregnancy, which I have only found out since was ligament pain.

I had to wear a special girdle type garment which cradled the bump because that gave support and helped alleviate the pain.

It only happened with the first pregnancy.

that's what started off my contractions second time round merlotgran - the fairly hot tea spilt all over me!

Yes, it made a very useful tray ?. I don't remember cradling it but I'm sure people do. I'm not interested in her any more than any other pregnant woman. no difference.

The cat used to lie across my bump, then jump up quickly when the baby moved!

You mentioning the cat callgirl reminded me of something my Dd told me.
Her friend called round who was a few months pregnant and my Dd's cat who was asleep suddenly woke up and walked purposefully towards her friend, stared hard at her,then jumped up on to the settee and placed a paw on her tummy, while staring into her eyes.
Very strange!

My daughters cat was quite obsessive about her baby bump.
Once she had the baby, the cat wouldn't settle unless she gave him a bib to sleep on.

I remember those voluminous maternity clothes Merlotgran heaven forfend we should show any sign of pregnancy.

How times change .When my 'bump' became obvious out came my mothers sewing machine and within days she managed to provide me with a couple of 'tents '! or 'smocks' as they were known as . It was if it was a crime to show you were pregnant.It is nothing these days for a pregnant woman to wear a bikini when on the beach which I have seen many times where I live.

I had a lovely maternity dress. And a very pretty smock. Much nicer than a tight tee shirt showing belly button outline. Eurgh.

I never held my bumps like that, to me it looks like posing for the camera.
With my fist baby I could often be found with both hands on my back, I had the most terrible sciatica. Second time I always had a toddler on one hip which had to be hung on to.
